2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

Anthony, no the system does not have a flapper valve installed. I bought the exhaust and it was shipped directly from Borla this is not a GM Borla system which is what some people have said have the flapper valve installed but I don't know for sure. Actually I'm messing with the Go Pro right now just trying to locate my suction cup mount to attempt to get some video.

Edit: Here is a quick video of start up with the exhaust, I was just messing with my camera settings and checking out audio quality. Will get some actual driving video this weekend.

I love the ATAK system , I have it on my 10 Camaro with Kooks headers and it sounds so bad ass . Definitely want this on my SIerra . Sounds great btw .

Not sure if it's related but after I had my muffler welded in and pulled the resonator and flapper I've noticed that when I lightly accelerate (not enough to make it down shift) the RPMs surge a little. Not sure if it did it before and I just notice it now since I can hear the exhaust or what.. He added a 3" pipe after the muffler. Anyone else?

Very nice. Would be cool to see a video. Does the ATAK system have the flapper valve built in? I've heard that Borla was putting flapper valves on some of their systems.

Has anyone ordered and installed a Magnaflow 15318 exhaust yet? I swear the description has changed on the Magna site... It says 4" tubing with 5" tip now! Just would like to see some pics of this beast.

I had the Magnaflow cat back exhaust installed part #15318. It sounds awesome with no drone! But looks like sh#t! the Magnaflow specs on their website when I ordered it said it was Tubing O.D. size 3.5 in. Tip O.D. size 4 in. well the website was wrong it's actually 4 in. Tubing O.D. size with a 5in Tip. I called Magnaflow about the advertising error on their website and all I got was an apology, they have since corrected the site except for the long box part #15329 which still shows the wrong specs. To top it off the 5 inch exhaust tip sticks out 3 1/2 inches past the body all the way to the edge of the rear bumper side step...Get-Er-Done :driving:

I told the Magnaflow tech that they should include a free Confederate Flag rear window sticker and a Get-Er-Done bumper sticker with those kits! I'm from SD and a card carrying right winger :M16: but this is a little to much redneck for me.

My GMC dealer is refunding the $750 I paid them and putting the factory exhaust back on and replacing the factory muffler with a Magnaflow 22" and removing the flapper valve then topping it off with a factory GMC chrome exhaust tip for $385. I'm having this done on 5/7. I will post updates next week.

I wonder if it was installed correctly though?? I had read a review on Summits website and the customer said it fit perfect. I have seen some disastrous exhaust installs and people swear it wasn't made correctly.

I will take some pics before it's removed. They had problems installing it, the kit had the wrong flange and it leaked so they used the factory flange. I asked the Tech at Magnaflow if it should stick out 3 1/2 inches from the back side of the Tip and his response was yes but he didn't have the exact measurements.

This is the pic Magnaflow sent me. post-125283-0-90346600-1398877914_thumb.jpg

That's good info, thanks. I just ordered the #15329 yesterday. To summarize, you didn't like it mainly because the tip stuck out too far? Or was it too loud, etc?

No one has side exit?!?!?!?!?!?

Yup... Magnaflow 22", resonator delete, RTP dual outlet exhaust tip. Barely louder than stock... I'll be replacing the Magnaflow with Flowmaster 50..... soon!
