2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

Cut mine out from the muffler back, added a flowsound muffler and came out the side of the body in front of the wheel with a 4" double walled tip.

Here is what the final product looks like. She now sounds like a truck

While this looks cool. With these motors being DI, your gonna have a lot of black soot all over the side of your fender and probably on your wheels and tires after not too long.

I'm expecting soot on the truck and wheels. The wheels are getting powder coated black so it won't really be noticeable. Besides the truck is gonna get dirty, scratched, muddy and who know what else I'm gonna put her through so I'm not afraid of a little soot on the fender.

They do some really nice work there.... I wish they could have done a couple of them with X-Pipes up as close to the engine as possible... Even though it is a single muffler system, it makes a big difference in the burble sound you get with a true dual system like they are building. Some like the burble, some don't. I have never been a fan of the LSx exhaust note.

They didn't install an "X" pipe because the Flo-Pro and Flowmaster mufflers they used were the crossflow design and the Magnaflow muffler was the True X. Read the text in these pics.

I can't seem to find any cat backs for 2014 crew cab standard bed, it's the 6'6" box. I would prefer tips coming out behind rear wheels. Anybody know if the 15269 Magnaflow will work on my truck? I found one made by Gibson but I'm in Canada and can't buy from them. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you look at Borla, thru your GM dealer - GM accessory parts program.

I have been told for absolutely NO DRONE the Flo~Pro "big oval" muffler is the way to go. Has anyone used this muffler? Here is a video from Kinney's muffler shop on a 2012 GMC Denali Sierra. Wow, it's big.

I was told that the magnaflow 15269 will fit the 6'6" bed from Custom Truck, they have stock as well. I went custom made, it was 1/2 the price using the same muffler. Installed by ABC Muffler in Edmonton for $551 tax inc.

Just got this in from UPS. Borla ATAK 140537 dual rear exit. Will update once I get this puppy installed.

Wow.....That muffler is suppose to have a very aggressive sound. Update us when you get it installed.

So I just returned from my test drive with my new Borla exhaust and I am very pleased. The ATAK muffler is the most aggressive sounding exhaust they have and it was worth every penny. This exhaust has a nice deep rumble, during cruising speeds and in V4 mode the radio volume has to be turned down to actually hear the exhaust in the cab (no drone at all). Now when you get your foot in her it becomes a whole different animal, it basically screams get out of my way. All in all I'm extremely happy with the system, from fit and finish to sound it is just what I needed on my truck to make it sound like a truck. If we have decent weather this weekend I might try to use my Go Pro and get some driving video for everyone.

Very nice. Would be cool to see a video. Does the ATAK system have the flapper valve built in? I've heard that Borla was putting flapper valves on some of their systems.

Anthony, no the system does not have a flapper valve installed. I bought the exhaust and it was shipped directly from Borla this is not a GM Borla system which is what some people have said have the flapper valve installed but I don't know for sure. Actually I'm messing with the Go Pro right now just trying to locate my suction cup mount to attempt to get some video.

Edit: Here is a quick video of start up with the exhaust, I was just messing with my camera settings and checking out audio quality. Will get some actual driving video this weekend.
