2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

Did anyone notice a change in the way they drive once you can "hear" your truck. I think I tend to be a bit more aggressive now.  Gotta watch that or Johnny Law will get me.
I think I actually drove much more conservative when I had my MBRP catback on my truck. I believe since I could hear it so much better it subconsciously made me think I was pushing harder on the gas pedal so I was always easing up on the gas.
That and the fact that i remote started my truck at a job as I was walking up to look out the window to see if it had snowed again... One of the guys I work for was parked next to me (passenger side where the exhaust exits) as I the truck roared to life he threw his hands up and jumped lol. Oops.. Didn't see him there. Couldn't help cracking up but I did feel bad.

No I have a 2017 GMC Sierra SLT with the 6.2L. Maybe I'm just getting old but I think its a bit too loud but the factory exhaust is ridiculously quiet, I can't hear it running from inside my house. I'm wondering if the gm performance exhaust by corsa would be quieter inside the cab because they tune the ANC with the exhaust. Its just an expensive price to pay if it's still too loud.

I have the GMPP Corsa 3.5" on my 2017 w/6.2, has a throaty sound when accelerating that I like to hear. At lower speeds around town it does have a little drone in 4 cylinder mode however I usually have my foot in it so it rarely sees 4 cyl mode.

What is this 4 cylinder mode you speak of? I have banished such things.

Mine will soon be banished as well. I've read the 2019's may have single cylinder mode...I bet that sounds good.

Hey Guys ,

New to this Forum but a long time member of the Corvette Forum. I have a 2017 Sierra "All Terrain" with the factory cat back option at the time. Its marketed by GM but I think its made by Corsa. I also added the "Twisted Steel" Y-Pipe that AFE makes with the high flow cats. It really woke the truck up and got rid of the flattened out part of the exhaust I can't stand. The problem is, after a couple of weeks, it has started to throw codes as the cats flow faster than the two O2 sensors are calibrated for. Initially I was told the truck wouldn't require a tune, but now it appears otherwise. I am not willing to trade my warranty for a tune as of yet. I am going to sell my slightly used Y-Pipe and return to stock. Has anybody else used that set-up and not experienced any issues?? Thanks in advance...........

The cat back on the All Terrain made by TMG aka Corsa is the same I purchased through GMPP. I considered the AFE Y-pipe but was concerned it would likely throw codes and for $700+ I was not ready to take a chance that I'd have to purchase a tune as well voiding warranty. Post a sound clip if you don'y mind.

NemesisC5,

Hey aren't you on the Corvette Forum also? Name sounds very familiar.....As far as the sound clip goes, I have already removed the y-pipe and boxed it back up in its original box.  I would describe the sound with it on as being deeper and more performance oriented. It was loud on initial start up but after that it just sounded really good. Like I said earlier, it woke the truck up. The throttle response was better and it reached rpm much quicker. If you know anybody that might be interested, I am going to sell it for half of what I have in it. I am going to price it at $450 shipped. At most it has 2-300 miles on it. My user name on the Corvette Forum is SDF if you want to look me up. I have to have 50 posts on here before I can put it in the "For Sale" section. Thanks for the reply............

Yep that's me on CF. I have plans to modify exhaust pre-catback just not settled on which way I'm going, catted or no cats with CMR Diablo tune cats turned off. I frequent a few forums gathering intel, the hot topic going is GM's new 4.2L DOHC TT Caddy motor likely a precursor of what we'll see in GM's top performing cars and in time our trucks as well.

On that note, I had to bring the old girl to the stealer today and removed my Range AFM disabler beforehand thinking they might spot it. Sure enough, first thing they do is plug in, even though it did not need plugging in. Ha! can't catch me though! Range slips under the radar.

I think I'd find a new dealership! I would have rolled some heads if they were simply looking for a tune and it was unrelated to your service request.
