2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

I installed a flowmaster super 10 series which they said is their loudest muffler. I  left the V4 flap and deleted  resonator. Ive had this new set up for 2 months now and there is quite a difference. I plan on taking out the V4 flap because at low rpms it makes the exhaust hiss a little, ( it does sound like a exchaust leak but I've had many people look at it and they say there no leak and that hissing noise is the v4 flap opening and closing. But driving around in tow mode takes that problem away and definitely turned heads.

I hope this was somewhat helpful.

I plan on going this weekend to have the Flowmaster 10 Series installed.. First just the muffler, start it and see how it sounds with the resonator in place.. if not to my liking then ill have them remove it.

But where is this V4 flap? is that inline somewhere in the exhaust?  Is that a job for the muffler shop? what does removing it do?

Depending on what year your truck is it'll be in front of the muffler of behind it. If you crawl under your truck you'll be able to see it.

Went first thing saturday morning :)  had them just install the muffler in place with everything else as it was and started it up, sounded ok, but really couldnt tell it was a 10 series at all, so had them remove resonator and flap and just dump it.. MAN what a difference.. def alot of drone in the cab, but only at certain speeds/RPM ranges.. but i love it.. more than the 40 series i had on my 15.

If i were you, id have them remove the resonator, keeping the resonator on keeps the truck sounding like its still stock.

And the v4 valve is inline with the exhaust, located after the muffler. Any muffler shop can remove it, all they have to do is cut it off and weld in a new piece of piping. By removing the v4 valve it makes the truck sound alot better and takes away the hissing noise.

Is there any value to our OEM Exhaust once it is removed? I took mine off at less than 2k miles and couldn't bring myself to let them "just scrap it", however I'm not really sure if I have the room to just keep it around the house either. It still has the Chrome/Polished tip and the V4 flapper and everything else utilized with the stock setup.

throw it on CL.  you might get $150-$200 for it.

ANybody have the CORSA dB exhaust single exit? I’m looking to get that for my 2017 5.3L but nervous about the V4 mode sound issues in general when replacing the stock exhaust. I’m assuming by installing any exhaust system that replaces the stock muffler, the V4 flap is removed? Also it says that the CORSA dB is made of T409 steel so I don’t understand why people on here are saying that it’s made of a lesser grade steel

I believe the Corsa is made from 409 stainless and the dB is made from 439 stainless.

I believe the entire Corsa Sport system is 304SS with double tip, and the dB is a 304SS muffler and single tip but 409SS tubing. The tip and muffler look great on my dB, but the tubing has surface rust.

How long have you had the exhaust on your truck for? And what area of the country do you live in?

Anyone on here have the MBRP cat back? I have a Magnaflow 12909? 22" muffler, left the flapper ( zero drone) and resonator but it's too quiet. I can get the MBRP for $322 right now and if it's too loud for long family trips towing I can swap it back. I'm so ready to pull the trigger soon how it's "black Friday" lol.
I want a deep, powerful sound and not raspy and poppy. The videos I've watched make it out to be what I want.. I'm just nervous it will be too loud.
