2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

Any V4 mode chopper noise? This is probably the last question I have on this system haha Ready to buy something to get my truck to sound like it has a v8 and not a Prius

Just tune it and get rid of the v4... that's my recommendation. I did it and it was a great decision.

Not just for sound but it drives better too i think... doesn't try to shift into v4 uselessly like it used to.

Mine only ever did it when going 45-50 on flat roads... then shifted right back to v8.

This is definitely on the list, but at the moment I am waiting until after my warranty runs out. Ya ya I know it probably won't matter, but it's a personal preference thing.

I understand. I was in the same boat and then finally just bit the bullet.

So far it's been great.

I've heard nothing but good things from tuning. I might pull the trigger once I hit 30,000.

A little bit but not enough to bother me. Not sure what it sounds like outside the cab.

This is dumb question.... I'm going to get the Borla 40359 muffler for my truck. I'm not sure if this applies to muffler swaps or the whole cat back replacement, but I hear you have to order GM model to get the flapper.

Is the flapper in the muffler, or one of the resonators?

When you order the GM Borla cat back you'll get the flapper. In your situation since you're only swapping the muffler you don't need a flapper. Your flapper is behind your stock muffler.

Hey guys, sorry if this has been discussed but there is way too many pages to look back through lol.. Does carven make a kit for our 6.2's? On there site it only lists the 5.3. If anyone has the Tr muffler or the kit on a 6.2 I would love to know and would love to hear a little video clip. Thx.

I have their Carven R muffler on my 5.3 and it looks like they only go up to 3" inlet.

Just wanted to vouch for the Magnaflow Pro off-road series catback. I installed this recently on my '16 5.3 and it sounds how it should have sounded stock- not too loud, but no longer can be confused for a Camry. Plus I dig the turn down tip before the rear axle. Highly recommended.

Getting my GM Borla exhaust installed today...had to drive my wife's Journey into work. I think I died just a little inside...

Edit: I got it today! Sounds great!
