2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

There is a youtube video from a member on here, he had ARH & Volant Catback. Volant is Corsa basically, just lower grade.

His video shows Volant before and after headers, it will be exactly what you need to hear.

I5ZQ8 is his youtube id.

Edit: here you go.

HOLY CRAP... That sounds EXACTLY like my Vette. What a beast.

Sounds good. What is it?

Cut the stock muffler out, replaced with straight pipe. Left the rest stock. It's perfect. My buddy has a borla and wishes he had done what I did and saved his money.

The good think is that if you want more you are only out the cost of cutting the muffler out and replacing with a straight pipe.

Sound good. Any performance difference?

I don't believe any cat back system will do much in the way of performance. There may be a very minimal change but without proper testing on a dyno I would be fabricating an answer.

What I can say is the truck sounds like it should, nice and subtle when cruising, no drone whatsoever, v4 is barely noticeable, and when you step into her.. she sounds good!!!

I had someone tell me my truck reminds him of a corvette ;) lol

I asked the local muffler shop to cut out my muffler and replace it with a straight pipe and they told me they couldn't because it won't pass inspection. [emoji1304]

got quoted anywhere from $500-$650 for local shops to do a stainless steel catback that exited out the side before the rear wheel (flowmaster 40 series in both instances). I decided to just get the magnaflow pro offroad series bolt on stainless exhaust- it has the turn down tip before the rear axle and should be a simple bolt on affair rather than dropping it off at the shop for day or two. Beat both those prices significantly too

I need some damn exhaust. lol But everytime I think I settle on a setup, someone writes about drone or chopper noise. I had found a used GM borla system, but then i heard that wasn't much louder than stock. so not sure if it's worth it.

The cheapest I have been quoted on a muffler delete is $75. Was hoping to get around $50

I paid $42 for mine, and I love it!

One thing if you get a flutter sound after the delete get under your truck, and make sure the flapper is closing all the way. Mine was stuck in a halfway open position. I freed it up, and now is sounds good.
