2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

I called my local dealership and they quoted me almost 1500 for the borla exhaust and labor for install. That is a lot of money for an exhaust. Maybe for now I'll pass on it.

Yeah, they want a lot of money for that system.

I rather go for an aftermarket then. Really all I wanted was the look of dual exhaust right now with a little more rumble.

Go with a longer magnaflow. I have the 14" and i absolutely love it. The 22" is the quieter of the magnaflow mufflers though.

I had a local shop custom bend 3" pipe from the Y all the way out the back and they cut out the 3rd cat.

I would highly recommend what I got. The shop recommended it to me and I am so glad I listened!

I will in a few weeks if my exhaust doesn't sell, the headers should be here soon.

Good luck on both parts! :) (or not really, cause I wanna hear what it sounds like)

After some trail and error (not much error, just sound preference), I think I have my setup complete.

Hopefully I am done with Exhaust components now, as my wallet was starting to dislike me.

Setup:

Texas Speed 1 7/8 LT Headers

Texas Speed Off Road Y

OEM Catback with Borla 40359 replacing OEM Muffler & Flapper. OEM Resonator is still in place.

Here are a couple videos. Normal Accel, Hard Accel (windows up for both), and then Warm Start with Rev. I'll upload a cold start after I grab a video tomorrow morning.

This setup sounds great to me. It's nice and quiet cruising, and makes noise when you want it to.

NOTE: I have 4 cyl mode (AFM) tuned out, that is why I got rid of the flapper. If you have it still active, I'd leave it in place to keep the chopper noise to a minimum.

Normal Accel:

Hard Accel:

Warm Start & Rev (and old man Kody 14.5yrs old):

Does anyone have experience with doing the muffler delete and then switching to something else? I did the muffler delete last week and I liked it for a couple days, now I think its not loud enough so I am looking to chop off the resonator and put a different muffler back in. The shop i go to has flowmaster 40 series, but he said he thought it would be quieter with the flowmaster which I find hard to believe. So I'm just looking for some help before I throw more money at it blindly.
