I want to hear it as well. It's not too agressive is it? I don't want an obnoxious sound but want it more agressive sounding than the GM borla. How is the Volant compared to the 14" Magnaflow? Do you have dual exhaust? Or single side out?

I think it is perfect over the GM Borla. I work at a GM dealer and I have heard numerous Borla kits on these trucks. I am completely satisfied with my Volant over Borla! The Volant only comes single out is factory location. I have not heard a 14" Magnaflow first hand on a Silverado or Sierra, But I had it on my 2012 Ram Hemi and I liked it a lot. But I think the Volant sounds much better. More performance sound and more unique sounding too! I will say that this is the best sounding kit I have heard! I have had AT3030XL, Banks Monster Exhaust, Flowmaster (super 40&44), and Magnaflow...Sounds just like a Corsa system (same exact thing except a slightly lower grade of stainless)

well....if she has the 5.3l, it will not fit (bolt right on) the factory tail pipe...

I was talking about the volant plus the corsa tip..... Lol

She is still kind of set on the Borla ATAK but she likes mine over video. She will make up her mind once she hears it in person.

The volant is a single out 3" stainless system. The only agressive sound you get is the cold start that the YouTube videos show. After it warms a bit the sound drowns to a mellow rumble. Very tame. I was actually quite surprised because i thought itbwas going to be louder, since i am adding headers i will get that volume i wanted. But im young and if it's too loud you're too old lol

Na jk its very nice.... Also the volant muffler while huge is a straight through design. Plus you get all dat stainless and 3" to boot.

I just replaced the clamps on each side of the muffler. You might need to unhook your battery longer for the truck to reset. Mine was unhooked for a hour and half while putting the exhaust on. Might be 10 minutes to reset or longer.

Yup now I have an exhaust leak on that spot I've been referring to where to stock clamp is used. Such a bad design, or I got a defective pipe from Gibson.

Yeah that's weird mine went to get together fine. Not a lot of room to work with but it tightened up pretty good. Are you going to take it to an exhaust shop? Should be an easy fix.

This is what it looks like. It won't go on any further. Took the entire exhaust off today and re did everything. Still has a slight leak. It just won't set up nice to the stock pipe. post-147823-0-62944400-1456692665_thumb.jpeg

I don't have the Gibson system but can you get that pipe seated, the clamp on, and then try to reattach the hangers? I used a Dynomax pipe and mine was difficult to get on because it seemed just a touch too long. Yours seems almost 3/16" short based on your picture.

We have tried everything. I agree, it's like it's just too short. I took the hanger off but t was hard to do anything with it like that cause it's in the way and pushing on the pipe. This picture is with hanger attached and pushing the pipe toward to stock pipe on the truck. That's as far as it will go. It looks too short to me.

I had that same problem with a Gibson on my 13 Silverado, could not get it to stop leaking from that same spot. I guess it must be from the factory, I though I just got a bad pipe too

Did you ever get anything to fix it or did Gibson do anything about it?

I cut that section out and replaced it with the factory flex pipe. I never bothered contacting Gibson

Not a bad idea. Did you just get the flex pipe part welded to the Gibson pipe?

A week later and a couple hundred miles of driving and my gas mileage is still up and I havent been anywhere out of the ordinary. And the "drone" that everyone talks about, if the radio is even on a little bit I can't hear it. It's still got a phenomenal tone upon acceleration and when cruising it is low enough that it is hardly noticeable.

I drove at 65 - 75 for a little bit this weekend and the drone can still hardly be heard with the radio on even a little bit.

So for anyone debating on a 14" Magnaflow. I don't think it's too loud at all.

I got a 14" Magnaflow, cut the third cat and did 3" pipe from the Y all the way out.

You mind letting me know where you got this done? Another Lubbock guy here. Thanks!
