2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

Finally got the new exhaust installed. Went with an 18" Magnaflow muffler, Dynomax 3" stainless pipes and a Jones Exhaust tip (Corsa style). Stock system came out surprisingly easily in one piece doing it by myself. Using Channellock plies to get the hangers off worked great and getting the exhaust over the rear axle was absent of drama. As others have mentioned, jack the passenger side rear tire up about an inch off the ground, support the frame with a jack stand, and lower the spare tire down out of the way. All in all I am very happy with the sound (other than V4) and appearance of it and it only cost me around $350.

How long did it take to remove the stock system? I am really wanting to save some money, new truck is coming in and I really want to take the setup off of my 2014 truck and put in on the 2016 truck and then put the new 2016 truck stuff on the 2014. If I do this it will save me about $400 or so.

Finally got mine finished as well. Removed muffler, flapper valve and resonator. Replaced with 14" Magnaflow and a flowmaster tip. Total was about $350 and it sounds/looks awesome.

It only took about an hour to get the stock exhaust off and that includes the time to jack it up and lower the spare tire. I'm use to working on rusty vehicles with the road salt here but this went super smooth since everything was nearly new. Edited by je1279

Let us know how you like it once you get it on. I love the sound of mine other than the V4 drone which is maddening. I have a Range AFM Disabler on the way to fix that though :)

OK!....I just had my Volant exhaust system installed and the Corsa tip installed too!...It went perfectly! The tip could not fit any better if it came with it...I am very, very HAPPY! Looks fantastic and sounds great! Not to loud or to quiet...sounds is perfect!

Is the V4 drone noticeable on the Volant system or does it do a good job of taming it?

Should've had your sister send the headers too. I think since she didn't I'll just come pick them up and test them out on mine until you come back

I'm sure you would like that very much.

You can test them out permanently for $1600 lol

I do not experience much drone at all. I love this exhaust! It sounds perfect! The only draw back is when it goes into 4 cylinder mode, you notice it....sounds goofy, but as far as I know, that is to be expected unless you deactivate the active fuel management...I do not regret it at all. It sounds just a tiny tad louder at highway speeds with the cruise control on and when you stomp the go go pedal, she GROWLS!!!
