2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers

Recommended Posts

I'd like to but I just can't justify the money for a tune, for me it's not worth it.

Only way my truck would ever get a tune is if I got that twin turbo kit haha

The second you drive it after a tune, you'd immediately feel justified. This is my 3rd truck and I've tuned all 3 of my trucks. Makes a world of a difference.

You can justify a $500 exhaust but not a $400 tuner!!?? The diablo intune has canned tunes and you can get a custom tune from lew as well if you are not happy!!

Tell me about it.... Its killing me not having a tune right now because i know what the truck has in it but its all held back!

Within the year the tune will pay fir its self in fuel savings.

Well the exhaust was just a sound upgrade, I guess I'm just not interested in optimizing the performance, plus I don't want any issues with the warrantee. I really eventually just want to trade it in for a duramax. Then I'll tune that haha.

But what about the warranty on the duramax? Lol

Whats the most harm a canned tune can do?? A dyno tune and you telling the tunner push it more and then you blow it up.

haha got me on that, suppose the risk vs reward with a tune on the duramax is worth it to me

Figure if I'm going to risk a warranty I'm going to go all out with FI, or cam, heads ect. not just a catback exhaust

thats just my opinion anyway haha

I just ordered the Volant catback tonight! Very excited to get it installed. However, I have one question....can anyone with this exhaust tell me if the Corsa dual style tip fit this system??? I know it is 3" and should clamp right, but I am wondering if it will be the correct length??? here is a link to the tip I would like to install http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cse-14031?seid=srese1&gclid=CIWhxfLJ88oCFQEGaQodrSoG-A

Same idea i have... Make it a "corsa" with the tips since i love the cosa tip.... I would just order it..... And if its off take it to an exhaust shop and have them bend/cut the tailpipe section for it to fit how u want..... Shouldn't take but 20min of their time

I installed a Borla ProXS muffler and custom tubing locally for a lot less than the pre-made kits. I like it!

I want a tuner too but like others; I am weary of the warranty issue. I agree if I shove a rod through my engine I'll pay for it--but dealership I spoke to told me that even if I have a sensor fail and they see that I was tuned (or pull data and send it to GM), I will get branded and lose my warranty. I hear mixed words on whether they can really see anything once you return it to stock.

It's my first Chevy; not familiar with how they play the game. My friend has a 2015 with lew tune and OMG.

I don't understand why some think you will launch a rod through the hood with a tune..... Guys.... Come on. Lol

I have had a custom dyno/speed density tune on my colorado for the better part of 9years and a LOT of nitrous. I have yet to have anything go wrong with the engine because of the tune.

I may have blown a hole in my intake manifold.... Bur thats what i get for not purging the lines and not checking my plugs.

I am just torn om WHO is going to tune my truck lol

I didn't say a tune would. I said if I threw rod through block while tuned because of me doing something stupid, I'll accept and pay for it.

What bothers me is the dealer saying if I have a sensor fail and they pull ECM and see it was tuned at one time I'll be denied warranty on whole power train.

That I don't understand.

I had a heavily modified 2013 Taurus SHO before this and I never had a concern with Ford. I used to take car in for oil changes and never detune it. Never had a warranty issue.

Warranty works in the form of what is affected.

I took my truck in for a blown transmission once tuned and all and it was repaird under warranty.

How would you do "something stupid" with a tune in the truck? I mean yah if you slap a blower on it and fuse a piston to the block i can see that being denied warranty work lol
