The GM Borla for the 2015/16 come in two sounds i believe as my coworker's is louder than mine but his is on a 2013 so no flapper. It's loud enough for me. I don't need to hear inside the truck with the windows up

Technically Borla has 3 different setups for these trucks. The touring, the s type and the Atak...

The GM borla i think is closer to the s type wich is their midrange system. Just alwith the added flapper.

After listening to silver ice 6.2's clips, I ordered the Borla XR-1 part # 40722. Arrived today and gets installed Fri.

Rite on... makes me happy that someone else Likes the sound of my truck... this setup how I did mine is amazing. All my videos I posted are all from my phone.

What are your plans? Are you just doing the muffler swap? Just remember I did the muffler swap first just to show everyone how it would sound.

GM Borla is a touring, not a sport or Atak...and designed for 2014+ models with the flapper.

Have GM Borla, Chuck is correct, it is the touring (quietest) version. Near stock from inside the cab when cruising, better beefier tone at start up and when you accelerate. Sounds like a truck now, but not obnoxiously so.

Also, very quiet compared to the Corsa which is a sport version. And yes, when I had a Corsa on my 2014 Silverado (5.3L), it was louder than my son's 2010 Silverado 5.3L sitting side by side. He wishes his is as loud as mine was (I actually sold it and went to the GM Borla because the Corsa was too loud for me).

I just did the Gibson exhaust on my truck. Sounds good with no drone on the highway. Think I paid $520 for the stainless version. Just thought I'd post for people on the fence and worried bout drone. Glad I went this route cause I really didn't want to pay a grand for gm/Borla.

How is the sound on this exhaust? I dont want anything crazy loud but want to know its there. Any info would be great. Where did you pick this up for 520?

Ive got the single 615628 stainless system. Has a nice rumble when you start it up and accelerate. When you head down the highway at 60 and drop to the lowest rpm you can barely hear it. The sound of this system is probably what your looking for, not too loud but not quiet. Im not sure if the dual sport would be much different in sound or tone with dual pipes. I bought my system off of realtruck.com when it was on sale.

Im digging pretty deep, cheapest I can find is 588. I think this is the route I wanna go. Just want it to sound like a v8 when I start it and if I get on it.

Would you say the "drone" is even an issue? Have read so many posts and im getting many different answers.

No issue with drone on my truck. I read a lot of reviews on this system from all the websites that sold it then pulled the trigger. I did go to napa and buy some heavier duty exhaust clamps to replace the cheaper ones that it came with. Also you can pull the stock system out in one piece, just jack up your truck to create a little more room. That way for some crazy reason if you dont like the gibson you can send it back and put stock back on. Anyways im happy with it so far and i just ordered the kicker soundgate audio upgrade so ill give a review on that after i install it. Good luck
