Trailer Brake controller

In reality-the bottom of the dash is a terrible place. Don't get me wrong, I have mine mounted there too. However, in the event of a "bad sway incident" the text book way to correct it is to apply pressure to the trailer brakes only, via the brake controller. Hopefully, the few extra seconds it take us to reach down there FIND THE LEAVER underneath the brake controller-and then apply it-will not leave us sprayed across the Interstate. JMHO!

I agree. Im left handed, and because of an injury, have to use my left hand to use the controller. Down low and to the right where mine was mounted is a bit of a pita. I say the one of the best features in the new Silverado is the trailer brake mounted high on the left lol.

On my work truck, we put it on top of the dash to the left of the cluster so you can see the readout and easily hit the lever.... they screwed it in since its a work truck but I would think you could use 2 sided tape

2 sided tape sucks, I tried it, I even used the good 3M stuff. Screwed is the best way to mount a brake controller.

TO THE OP OF THE THREAD:

Here is one of the many threads related to brake controllers and GMT-900 series

HERE IS AN EXCELLENT INSTALL GUIDE:

Good luck with whatever unit you decide to go with.

I used the Tekonsha P3 in 2 of our shop trucks, my personal truck, and installed it in two separate Suburbans for friends. Our selling point was that it handled both electric, and electric/hydraulic systems. Definitely worth the money.
