What 6" lift kit? - Too many vendors

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have owned several lifted trucks, but the last one was 10 years ago. There are many new vendors since then and new technology. I want 6" to 7" lift with 35's. I have selected the tires and wheels, but not the lift. There are also limitations I have with a 7' garage door opening. I have measured several ProComp 6" lifts at the local Chevy dealer and they are all 6"10" exactly. So, I have about 1 more inch to play with.

I want the best ride with best suspension geometry for tire wear. Who to go with?

Vendors I have seen so far are:

ProComp - (driven a 2014 with 6" lift. Ride was stiffer, but tires were mud tires and I think a lot to do with the stiffer ride)

BDS - has an upgrade to FOX Shocks, but double the cost

FTS

FabTech

OneZone

Rough Country - has 7.5"

McGaughy - has a 7"-9" (which i like due to the lowering kit I have on my Tahoe)

I am a believer in shocks being the key to the ride.

Unless BDS has changed anything their kit will net in the 6.5" - 7" of lift range, with FTS, Fabtech, and MCG netting closer to 8" of lift despite mostly being marketed as 6" kits. Those 3 allow for flatter cv angles as well. My BDS kit rides great but I would prefer more height. If I was doing it, I would go with FTS and adjustable Bilsteins set at 9".

When yukon releases gears for this truck I'm going with the 6" bds and the coils. Might cost a little more but bds in my opinion is one of the best.

There warranty is also unbeatable, I've used them on a few rigs I've owned.
