I'm about to order a fully loaded 4x4 crew cab Sierra SLT or a Silverado LTZ Z71.

 

I'm sure this question has been beat to death. But anyone with the Chevy regret not getting the GMC or vice versa?

 

Those of you that have bought one or the other what's your opinion?

Rebates all got lowered today. Chevy website shows1750 and GMC shows 1000. That alone tells me people are picking the GMC over the Chevy.

Just take a look at both side by side and see what you prefer. I like the look of both, but I prefer the "luxurious" look of the GMC better.

That's where I'm leaning, but I can get a slightly better deal on the Chevy.

As it should be, since the Silverado outsells the Sierra about 3 to 1, there would be more complaints. Radio knob issue is a hit or miss item for the trucks, most people aren't whining about it one way or the other. If you can't see the words/symbols on the knobs, you're legally blind and shouldn't be driving anyway.

 

When I was looking, I had 1 of each within 400 miles like I was looking for, and ended up striking a deal on the Chevy. I don't prefer one over the other, and I've had both.

Choose the one you like but there are differences between the trucks. From the GM press release, 'for example the interior materials are different. If you order a version of the Sierra with metallic trim inside, it will be real metal or aluminum trim, not so in the Chevy. Even the leathers and plastics are unique to each truck. The GMC gets higher quality leather and finer touches all around, even on the base model. Before, if you had a base model Sierra and a base model Silverado, they looked very similar inside. Functional differences mean the Sierra gets features like projector headlights, LED lights in the bed (4 mounted under the bed's upper rails) and tie-downs as standard, but they're optional equipment on the Silverado.' Also dash illumination, bed rail caps, moldings, and chrome badges, no stickers on a GMC.

Do you want a vehicle you like? Or a vehicle everyone else likes?

 

I preferred the exterior look of the Chevy for the new model. The GMC looks a bit weak, plastic arrou d wheel wells, round foglights in square hole, silly DRL lights.

 

However the GMC has red dash/gauge illumination, red stitching and carbon fiber textured leather accents. My favorite color is red.

 

For me those options can be carried over later.

I want the vehicle I like. I do still think about resale value and why would one be more popular than the other.

I like the look of my Bad@$$ Chevy over the pic u posted. Plus I hate the Ford Super duty similarities of the GMC front end.

Which picture? The one in my sig won't do it justice lol. But I agree, I'll admit to a nice truck when I see one and yours is by far one of the baddest 2014s I've seen. As you can tell I like that color too haha. There's just something about the Sierra that does it for me though, maybe it's the lights and the red theme on the inside but thats the one for me. If I couldn't get a Sierra, I'd definitely get a Silvy pretty much identical to yours.

Thanks, I know the pic you posted doesn't do justice to what you are waiting on, I was busting your balls. As stated earlier, I absolutely hate everything about FORD, their pure junk IMO and the GMC front makes me sick. I can't imagine what the design engineers were when they designed the front end. This is only my opinion, but I'm sure it is shared by many.

Can't go wrong with either one. I prefer the look of the Chevy, so that's what I bought.
