I have a Denali with the stock 20's and the ride is harsh. I'm wondering if it's because I ordered it with the Z71 package. Wonder if the ride is better with the Bilstien shocks. I drove an SLT and it rode really nice.

For those with 285/45/22 bridgestones, what tire did you choose (revo, alenza, blizakks, other)? I'm thinking of getting replica factory 22" wheels from oewheelsllc. 22s look great on everyone's truck btw!! Thanks

Edit: can I take the tpms off my 20's and use them in the new set or do have to purchase a new set of tpms?

There are at least two factors affecting ride quality related to the OP's question.
Tire spring rate
unsprung weight

Tire spring rate is partially(in a large way) tied to sidewall height. Typically, a shorter sidewall, a higher spring rate.

Increased unsprung weight causes the suspension to resist motion. A.k.a moment of inertia. Not a good thing for suspensions. Larger wheels typically increase unsprung weight, since there is more aluminum in a larger wheel and the larger aluminum rims typically add more weight than an increase in sidewall of the tire would.

i can directly tell a ride difference based on the fact i had 20's with goodyear sra, and went to 22's with dueler alenza. i feel the bridgestones have better traction since they are the same width, but the ride is more harsh since i went to 22's with 45 sidewall instead of the 55 the 20's.

lol i directly replaced factory denali 20's and 285/55's at 40psi with factory ses 285/45 at 40psi and can for sure tell a ride difference. i dont care what you think or say, lower profile tires are not going to ride as smooth as big sidewalls.
