We all love power under our right foot. But a reminder that not everyone out there appreciates us diesel guys playing with the engine tunes and exhaust systems. This article from ProPickup, reveals how serious the EPA is on finding and laying down the judicial hammer on Tuners--and vehicle owners who are making mods to the smog systems:

I don't mind anyone modding the emissions system on their truck. In my opinion most of that garbage that they put on isn't needed, and just costs the owner more money in the long run. What I don't like is getting behind one of the douche bags who's spewing black smoke all over the place. To me that's unnecessary.

They run unchecked. They have no regulations to follow and can make any laws they want

Before I bought my truck in 08 I was considering a Dodge 2500 w/ the Cummins. This was the year before they added all the DPF and crap. From what I remember reading, that year truck had better fuel mileage, ran better and cleaner that the ones after with the DPF.

Even the guys that bought trucks and deleted all the emissions stuff reported more power, better fuel economy, less fuel consumption and over all a better performing truck. Basically the same truck without all the emissions garbage ran better, cleaner and longer on one tank of fuel compared to the same truck with it all on there. Not sure how they think all that crap makes less pollution.

It's the same thing with ethanol in gas. At least in my truck I know it burns cleaner, gets much better gas mileage and uses less gas running non-ethanol than it does with E10. They need to do away with the blend all together. Better fuel mileage on cars and we don't waste all the corn, etc that is blended and can actually use that for food.

I agree with Daryl as well. The guys blowing smoke is not needed. Around here it's the douche-bag rednecks with stacks or 8" pipes that run around doing it.

I have seen a duramax with a 4" pipe going into a 13 gallon kitchen trash can sized tip bellowing smoke on the freeway.

The smoke blowing is something for the cops or hipo to worry about. The federal govt can keep their hands to themselves.

"To make emissions per gallon lower, we'll refine a hazardous substance and decrease miles per gallon." It makes perfect sense.
