Saving this post so I can watch/listen later. How does it sound when it goes into V4 mode tho?

I remember I had put magnaflow on my dads 07 suburban with AFM. and it sounded terrible when it went into V4 mode. Eventually tuned it out.

Will most of you guys be tuning? or adding a range AFM delete modual when it comes available?

I had this mod done about two weeks ago, I couldn't stand it from the moment I left the muffler shop. I had the factory muffler re-installed this morning by a different, more reputable shop and left the dual 4" stainless double wall tips on. I'll probably end up going back to a single tip, I think two looks like too much. I was tempted to try a magnaflow in place of the factory muffler with all the stock piping (valve & resonator) left in place but I really think that it would still sound weird in V4. I never planned on disabling the AFM, but then again I'd rather have better fuel economy than a good sounding pickup, because having both is apparently out of the question.

On their website says its only available for up to 2013 GM trucks. Not sure if any programming changed significantly to the point where the 2013 module would work on a 2014 truck.

I removed muffler, adaptive valve, and resonator. Currently straight pipes from 3rd cat out. Sounds like a 1965 pulp wood truck! I'm beating my head against the wall between which muffler: flowmaster-which series for gods sake???, mbrp, borla, corsa, the list goes on and on! I want it fairly loud and to raise hp. Is it ok to gut the 3rd cat? I already have a custom tune and a brother in law that owns a muffler shop(poor guy just has bad taste) Please help!!!

I removed the factory muffler, the valve, and the resonator. Basically, my muffler shop just cut the factory pipe between the last converter and the muffler and removed it all. We then installed a 22" magnaflow, single in, dual outlet with custom made pipes coming straight out the back. The last 22" are 4" diameter chrome. There are absolutely no problems, except, it is not quite as loud as I had hoped. It does sound pretty good when you get your foot in it. At idle it has a very mild rumble to it. It works for me.

you can gut the cat very easy or just remove it there is no 02 behind it i think dont quote me on that.

But no real gain will be made in a stock vehicle from muffler.

Mandrel bend tubing and long tube headers with a x pipe would make a gain

Can you post pictures of this setup?

I'm starting to notice the helicopter sound more and more. I don't like it at all so I guess next step is aftermarket cat back and a tune to kill the AFM

In my case, it's happening more and more also. Escpecially as the weather gets colder.

I'm looking for CAT back also.
