Muffler Delete

Recommended Posts

I had mine done at B&B Muffler of Crosby and 35. I might need to go back because my exhaust is rattling when i rev it it up and then let off the gas. not sure where its coming from. could it be the flapper valve rattling ?

Update : clamped the valve open rattle stopped.

How did you clamp the valve open? Is it possible to get a picture?

I just went under the truck with a hose clamp twisted the valve open and clamped the 2 squares together to hold it in the open position.

Same way I did it, extremely easy and got rid of the exhaust rattle in that section. My next step is to remove that 3rd cat.

Just been thinking. Thoughts on if I run the 22" Magnaflow part #12589 in place of the stock muffler, but move it forward as close as possible to the cat and leave the flap valve and resonator in place? My goal is to get some mild rumble at idle, some grunt when I stand on it, and NO drone while I'm driving people down the freeway.

Leave the resonator but ditch the flapper. You'll be happy.

Another video. Why not.

Total cost was $63.90 and took about 1/2 hour

Can you hear the flapper valve rattle in person like others have mentioned? I thought I could vaguely hear it but it's hard to tell on cell phone speakers. Sounds good!
