UPDATE: picked my truck up from dealership on Wednesday, 11/20, after dropping it off Monday, 11/18. They pulled the front differential and cracked it open. Found a missing thrust washer, the carrier adjustment nut thing was not torqued to spec, and the lock tab for it was all chewed up they said. The backlash was way out as well. Picked it up and the problem IS STILL THERE!!! Loud whirring noise when you get to any speed 50+ and let off the gas. I am about done with this damn thing! My wallet is about dried up too

Rode with the technician and the shop foreman and both say it is the tires absorbing road noise and transferring it up through the drivetrain and I tell them they are not that loud of a tire, which they aren't, and he says the reason I don't hear it with the front shaft out is because it cant transfer it through the front. This is BS.

Oh, the shop foreman also said it is the hibiscus clutches in the transfer case, making the grinding sound on deceleration, from the gears making the driveline spin faster, which doesn't make sense, because on stock tires with stock gears it didn't make this noise, and that would be at the same RPM.

I locked it into 4wd and the whirring sound was not there as I got her up to about 65 in 4wd, which I hate doing on dry pavement, but had to for the sake of testing. But the in and out dragging sound (metal on metal) comes intermediately as Im decelerating and then goes away at about 15mph and lower (decelerating).

They said bearings look fine. Im pretty dead set on it being a bad gear set. And if I do that Im getting a new bearing kit with it as well.

I will give it 500 miles on this gearset to see if the noise persists or if the front carrier blows up lol

Man that sucks. I hate to tell you this but that sound isn't going anywhere.

Yeah I figured it wouldn't lol

I think from the thrust washer missing which messed up the backlash engraved the pattern on the gears thus messing them up and still making the noise.

Blackout, don't you have a np246 transfer case in your 07 or is it a different tcase?

Alright well Im going to get a double cardon front shaft through Superlift and see if that solves any issues.

Im also going to tear into the transfer case that I pulled out of my truck (original to the truck) and see if the clutches or anything is bad

And if noises persist, then its back to getting a new gearset and bearing kit. Damn thing...

Well I just ordered a new CV front driveshaft yesterday, see if that solves anything. I also went to the original shop that installed the gears and he told me to get a replacement set of gears (warranty) and they (the shop) will get a new bearing kit and he said bring a different differential this time and he will set it up and see what happens. Im either going to find a used differential locally or I'll just have to order a replacement ear for my stock differential cause I cut it off for the RCX lift. Either way its going to cost me even more money, but if I can get it back together I'll be happy that its at least running right. Damn tired of this thing...

Gonna need to get some side work to make up for all this lost income lol

Alright here's what happened:

Finally got my CV style front driveshaft in the mail today. Then went and installed it. BOOM!!! Almost all noises and clunks are gone! I was so excited!!! Only noise now is at 10mph and decelerating in 4wd it sounds like something is grabbing and letting go, like the front carrier is trying to engage but I'm not worried about it, only use 4wd in snow or around the bonfire lol
