Not my truck, but I will go ahead and give an answer for the owner,

Thinking maybe just a 6 inch bar across the center from left to right not tinted, then the rest of the windshield with maybe a 200% tint,

Think of a World War 1 tank......

Lol, that would be hilarious... (but I think you meant 0%? -- 200% is no tint at all).  My sister did an 80% windshield tint and its almost a clear film.

When u say windshield tint, is it just tp section or whole thing?

Whole thing.  55% from top to bottom.  Have done it on all my vehicles and love it.  Its not too dark where it makes it hard to see at night but just enough to keep the heat down and sun from burning your eyeballs out during the day.

Just wondering is it legal? I usually always get 5% tint all around but never gotten the front windshield tinted, I’m n Texas sound like it would b a good idea tho.

Nope, its not legal.  Another reason I go with 55% is its almost 'get-away-able'.

If law enforcement in your area isn't too picky about it, I would go for it, obviously at your own risk.  I definitely wouldn't suggest anything less than 35%...

5% all around and 35% windshield tint would be SUPER dark.

that's probably smart.  They do make a film that 80% (I wouldn't even consider it tint - and no one would notice) that helps with heat and UV.  Might be worth looking into since Dallas gets pretty warm.

Got it, percentage is visibility, not darkness.

Still liking my answer for you, don't think the police would mess with the "sinister tank look".

I believe tint is measured by the amount of light it lets pass through. ex. 100% would be perfectly clear.

They do make 100% clear UV/heat blocking material for use on windshields.  I do at least half my driving at night, and up here in Deer Central, windshield tint is an accident waiting to happen.  Not to mention, here in NY they've tied window tint to vehicle inspection, and any tint darker than I think 75% on the windshield and front door windows (on trucks; all side windows on cars) will cause you to fail inspection.  A new industry of "free tint removal" has sprung up, providing you come back to them for re-application after inspection.  All that is far too much of a PIA for me... I've found out how dark I can go, and keep it at that.

I took the time to buff and wax the truck today. It came out pretty good. Going to level it when I get back from vacation. I have 285/55/20 Falcon tires on it now. Also have a Five Star Custom tune in it with a K&N cold air intake.

Brand new to the world of GM and brought home my bone stock 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 base model this past weekend.  I've owned Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Dodge etc...  It was new, never titled and used as a service loaner.  So I'm the first registered owner, but it has a few thousand miles on it.  Got a great deal on it!  Now the fun begins to make it my own!
