Seat Movement Issues

Recommended Posts

My seat shift has slowly began again. After being rock solid after fix in May, ten months later it is moving. Tried putting clamps back on without success. Was told that even off Warrentee now I have 12 months from fix to bring it back. Will wait another month and take it in.

Back at dealer out of bumper to bumper. They report different issue, this time the seat track. Service manager is going to cover it. Sure saved a big debate!

I had this same problem with my 2015 Sierra. Not only did my dealer deplace the shims, but they ordered a whole new braket of some sort. I guess something like a cross member that was also in there and replaced it all together. Thats been a couple of months ago and mine does not move anymore.

I don't know about the passenger seats.

My question is does anyone with a 2016 think they have this issue. After having my dads 2015 High Country for about 50 days while I was waiting for my order to be delivered I definitely know that he the issue. I pointed it out to him and he said he never noticed.

I have had my 2016 1500 CC for almost 4 weeks about 1180 miles and I think my 16 has a slight movement issue on the drivers seat even with factory fix from the 14 & 15s issue built in from the factory now.

I guess I will drop a couple of bucks on clamps and give it a try.

My question is do you do the fix the same way after the white clips have been installed by Chevy/GMC?

Or is there a different way/place to clamp them?

Thanks.

i have some seat movement on my 2015 dbl cab but mine seems like the back rest part is moving foreword when braking then falling back once stopped is this the movement everyone else is getting? im also getting a popping sound from the same back part of the seat seems to be where the heat element is in the seat.

I had some time tonight. So a trip to Home Depot, $4 and about 15 minutes and the clamps are installed. I will test it out tomorrow as Tuesday is the day I spend the most miles on the road in a usual week.

I will report back. My wife asked me "Why are you going to HD to get clamps to fix your seat? It is a brand new truck." I giggled to my self and said "Because GM has yet to figure out how to fix this issue that has been going on since the 2014's were released."

PS. Her father was an electrical engineer for General Motors and retired and a few years ago passed away. I wish he was still here to see how much of these vehicles are "electrical and computer based" now.

My 2014 All Terrain has what feels like a loose seat. Frame seems tight but

like not locked in place. Haven't taken in. Still can't get the dealer to

assign the correct tire pressure sensors to correct wheels.

Transmission has had second reflash and still clunks or slow shifts

Right now Ford might look better, don't know. Just seems GM can't

fix there problems. So is it GM or dealers just incompetent on

making repairs

I just his clamped mine and said f it

I also just clamped my 2016 (Ya my 2016 still had the seat shifting and clunk issue) and it worked like a champ! No more shift, the seat stays in place when making a turn. #JUSTCLAMPIT
