Seat Movement Issues

Recommended Posts

That's for dam sure!

At $269 total repair

$16 in parts

THATS $125/HR!!! For maybe a high school graduate that passed a couple of certification classes.

I'm not talking about a guy who pulls engines but someone who maybe makes $15/hr...

I'm in the wrong business, wait a minute i am in the OEM parts production business???

lol so you're in the $16 of the $270 invoice business, I say you need to get yourself a garage and a screw driver and start making $125/hr!

FIXED!!!! Just picked up my truck and I can finally say that my seat issue has been remedied. They installed the clips and lubed the appropriate places. No more seat shift!

Don't be too happy with your seat fix.

Went to dealer - Anderson GMC in Hunt Valley Maryland 4 times. (#5 next week)

Responses:

1. All of our 2015 Yukons do that.

2. We will check into it - I threatened to call Detriot due to a possible safety issue.

3. Well we found a fix that they used on Cadillacs.

4. Installed Clips and fixed the problem.

5. 5 months later (now) - Movement and clicking is back. Scheduled an appointment for May 8th to start the process over again. Maybe they can go directly to #4 again and bypass the foreplay.

This is my 3rd Yukon. If you cant get the drivers seat right and comforable maybe it's time to switch brands.

I currently on 5 GM's. something this simple can destroy brand loyality.

good afternoon. 2014 silverado, had seat issue along with many others. i now have a seat from a 2015 model due to the fact that dealership managed to damage my first seat along with the truck while attempting to fix the isuues. now for my question, my new seat has no movement issues, but now has developed a squeak/creak noise that is very annoying. has anyone else had to deal with this new "seat issue"?

Yup, got my seat fixed back in November and now the seat is moving again. I'm not going back to the dealer. Last time they tore up my interior, so I'll just spring for the DIY fix seems more reliable and will save me the pain of having to have the dealership order me a new door panel, door sill, B-Pillar Trim and lower dashboard trying to take the seat out.

Wow that's horrible, I took my seat out myself and didn't scratch a single thing. Pretty impressive seeing how I'm a klutz!

Just do the hose clamp fix and be done with it.

9 months since I did mine and seat hasn't moved since.

Smothbassman, i am new th the site. my first seat moved like a rocking chair, but no squeaks. my new seat is solid, but has a squeak like the one that i had in my 1973 vega. do the hose clamps help stop the squeak/creak that my new seat has? easy fix, or does the seat have to come out of the truck?

No

The clamps only work on the movement of the seat. I haven't experienced the Squeaks yet. Sounds as if something isn't lubed properly. The dealer needs to address that. Otherwise get some Teflon or graphite spray and go to work on the joints in your seat to find the culprits. I just peeked under the seat today and there's grease in the joints. Maybe they missed one when they put your nee seat in.
