I'm starting to notice the seat movement issue very intermittently. Right now it only happens on one of about 50 hard left turns. It only started acting up in the warmer weather too. I'll just get the dealer to look after it on my next oil change.

I've got a few rattles in my truck now too but can't figure out if its my golf clubs in the back seat or the truck haha. I guess there's an easy way to figure that one out.

Yep mine went away in the winter and got worse with the warm weather. The only thing I can figure is the cold makes the parts shrink which tightens things up and the heat makes them expand which loosens them up again. That's the only thing that makes sense for temperature affecting something physically moving like that in my opinion.

This seem consistent with mine. I got the truck in February, and didn't notice this until April. If I max out the front vertical / tilt adjustment, it seems not to do it. Going to take it in and see what they say.

Well got my truck back this morning....so far so good! They installed those retainer clips discussed recently in this thread and greased up a pivot point on the seat whatever that means. So far, solid as a rock. We'll see if this holds up over time.

I just wanted to update people on this. I had done the hose clamp in the past and it fixed most of my movement issues, but not all. Also I still had a bad creak to my seat. Even when I wasn't sitting on it, if I would push down with my hand it would creak bad. Today I had some time to pull my seat out and investigate. I put a zip tie around the bolt that's supposed to have a plastic retainer clip on it as per the TSB and that fixed the rest of my movement issues. Then I pulled my upholstery off and removed 4 hex screws from the bottom of the seat that held the two white plastic pieces on. The same two white plastic pieces that we put the hose clamps beside to stop movement. I then lathered the shaft that these plastic pieces sit on with lithium grease as well as in between the plastic pieces and the bottom of the metal bracket that they screw to.

I can now safely say I have absolutely no seat movement or creaking. So if anyone is going to fix this issue themselves I suggest they follow the TSB and use the two retaining clips, one for the white plastic piece and the other that goes on the metal bolt as well as grease the white plastic pieces and shaft.

Been a while since back on the forum.

Same seat problem that y'all been describing. I can't stand it anymore!

Took 2014 Z71 to the dealer last Friday and explained the TSB.

Will cost $269.16

Retainer p/n 13405675 $3.33

Shim Clip p/n 13594989 $6.25

Another Retainer p/n 00332364 2@ $ 1.05/pc.

Super Lube p/n 12371287 $5.48

2.2 Labor Hrs.

Extended Warranty will not cover.

I don't believe my ears - how is this not a FMVSS problem? Anything with the word "seatbelt" or "seat" is all just about covered under the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.

Can one of the GM reps visiting this site PM me? Have seen were the rep contacts dealer??? How does this work?

This is happening to my truck too. I bought it in February and it has less than 1200 miles on it. Its very very frustrating! I purchased it about 45 miles north of where i live so I called my in-town dealer to make an appointment. They said they'd cover it. Going in next monday. Hoping for a fix!

Well after about a week of driving it, I'd say the seat is 99% fixed. If I take a hard left turn and really put some weight into the seat in the direction toward the driver door I can feel and hear a very slight pop. Basically it feels like the seat wants to move but the fix ties it down in place really really hard and good.....but it feels "tied down" as opposed to feeling like a solid seat. If that makes sense.

Overall, I'm happy as long as it doesn't loosen up and get worse.

Sadly mine has come back after about 2 months of fixing it. It was rock solid when they fixed it so I know it can be done.

gstting weary of all these dealer visits

Just reassured me that extended warranties are a waste of money. Its easy to do yourself and takes less than an hour.

That's for dam sure!

At $269 total repair

$16 in parts

THATS $125/HR!!! For maybe a high school graduate that passed a couple of certification classes.

I'm not talking about a guy who pulls engines but someone who maybe makes $15/hr...

I'm in the wrong business, wait a minute i am in the OEM parts production business???
