Seat Movement Issues

Recommended Posts

I did the fix suggested here with the hose clamps however after about a few weeks it is back to moving. It isn't nearly as bad as before but still noticeable. The clamps appear to still be tight but I think I'm going to try to put another set on the outsides of the white bracket and reposition/retighten the ones on the inside to see if that helps.

Hello Guys it has been a while since I have checked in. I did not spend an hour reading all 511 posts but I wanted to let everyone know that my dealership did fix this seat shifting issue on my truck (heated and cooled leather power drivers seat) by replacing the track. Dealership is Wyatt Johnson GMC in Clarksville TN. They also replaced the leather seat cover on the bottom as the stitching was coming apart. I am officially on a diet now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just put the inside ones on again. Keep pressure on them when you tighten. It will work with the two.

Most report it comes back, so hopefully you can report different in a month or two.

Fixed my seat at 1,000 miles with hose clamp. Now have 11,590 miles and no seat movement. I drive over 100 miles a day and get in and out of my truck 25 plus times a day. [emoji106]

Pounds or kilograms?

Just kidding, your seat would be no more if it was kilograms.

Your dealer appears more willing to help than mine. I just had my truck in this afternoon for the recall and asked that they check the loose seat again and I too gave them the bulletin. You can move the seat side to side by hand so I showed the service writer and he agreed it didn't seem right. Well, they said movement is normal, per the service manager, and did nothing, again. I will write a letter to the dealers owner and never buy another vehicle from them! I moved away from GM 10 years ago for quality control issues and after coming back this year I'm afraid they made little headway. Otherwise I really like the truck but this is very annoying and NOT normal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I wouldnt bother with the owner. I bought my wife a gmc terrain last year and it ended up having an intermittent discharge of the battery that the dealer couldnt find or fix, and eventualy gave up and told me to put a battery tender in. Long story short, i opened a case with a gm ambassador and gm bought it back at full price after a year.

You have to be persistent, and never give up. Never, ever, give up.

Just got my truck back and no more seat movement. My paperwork says "Performed PI1376"... does anyone know what that means? The service writer told me they installed some shims and a new clip.

m not sure on the code. What was the build date of your truck. Month and year?

Mine is February 14. Chevy dealership tried telling me it affected early build dates like 2013. I was like whatever. Many people having problems even with 2015 models.
