Seat Movement Issues

Recommended Posts

Correction: You went through one 2014 truck and then decided to do it two more times?!?

I usually get a new Silvy every year or so. Look, if you dont gripe a little about the crappy plastic foriegn parts in an otherwise good truck in a public forum how else will WE get these issues fixed for ALL of US? I want my next new Silvy to be better. Besides what else can I do? Drive a

Ford or Ram? Dont be silly LOL.

Edit. It wasnt two minutes after I posted this reply I got a call from a very nice young lady from GM about an e mail I sent a day or so ago. GM is sending me a coupon for 500 dollars towards GM accessories. Might have to get me a new boetie ball cap. Hey, Looks like Christmas came early. Made my day. I need to look up the guy that came up with the hose clamp fix and send him something.

haha I know I'm just giving you a hard time. After my experience with my 2014 I wish I still had my oil consuming 2007 to drive around! This hasn't been the new truck experience I wanted....

Well, I just go my seat back from its 5th service. It still moves. GM claims there is nothing they can do about it. I am about to investigate lemon laws on this thing. This is rediculous for a nearly $50k truck to have a seat that slides side to side every time you go around a corner. This issue alone is enough to make me hesitant to recommend this truck to anyone.

Did the rubber hose clamp trick last night and so far its worked like a charm. Spent $4 on parts and install took 5 min. Hardest part was finding the right isle in lowes. Saves all the headaches of dealing with the dealership and seat feels sturdy as it should. All you guys that are having problems with your seat and the dealership, save yourself the headache, go to the hardware store and do it yourself. Trust me and everyone else that have done it....it works.

If you'd rather go through all the trouble of countless trips to the dealership, and pursuing Lemon Law Lawsuit, go right ahead. This is a new model truck and apparently this seat issue isn't new and doesn't sound like its going away tomorrow. Every car/truck/bike/boat I've ever owned has had some kind of problem with it. I'd say 7/10 times under warranty, the dealership can't recreate the problem or can't find a solution. Best solution I've found is these kind of forums. People trying to help other people out, which in my experience is a HUGE source of information. You can spend all the money in the world on something, and I guarantee you there's still going to be something about it that's going to drive you crazy. If you aren't willing to get your hands dirty and help yourself out, then I have no sympathy for you.

Does this affect bench seats? Or the 40/20/40 bench seats...the one with the 3 cup holders in the middle.

Thanks

MD

hose clamp will fix all seats. I've already had two 2014 silverados. One with bench seat and now the one with bucket seats. Fixed both [emoji106]

Eddie, please read this thread and post the fix to GM engineers. I've reported it to my dealership and they are looking into the hose clamp fix also. This affects yukon's and tahoe's as well.

Isriam,

We recognize the frustration expressed in the thread and truly do apologize. We'd be happy to reach out on anyone's behalf and explore all possible repair options further with the dealer. All we request is a private message with your full contact information, VIN, current mileage, and preferred dealer in order to do so. We're happy to assist any way we can.

Sincerely,

How about catching this stuff in the claimed million mile test? Since you missed that moment redesign an actual fix and stop patching $1000 seats in our $50k trucks. Talk is cheap, so step with solutions or ahut the hell up.

OMG! I'm new here and I have the same complaints about my driver seat in my 2014 Z71. I've been back and forth to the dealer about it and had all the bandaids done with no resolve, in fact, it's worse than ever!

I too, wish I had my 2007 'oil consuming' truck back again. At least the seats were nice!
