Seat Movement Issues

Recommended Posts

from the dealer? yes. i don't think anyone has a dealer fix except for replacing the entire seat frame that lasted. maybe if they drilled holes in the frame and put the clips through the bar it would work like another posted mentioned. i've had mine repaired twice at the dealer with new clips each time. both failed within 30 days.

Finally got seat fixed. It has been good all day so maybe it will stay that way.

They tried TSB fix a few times and finally took the seat apart and found that the brackets that hold the seat cushions to the rails needed to be replaced.

Seat is rock solid now.

My seat has started to move on the drivers side. When making turns you can feel the lower cushion move side to side. Can honestly say I have never had a GM back to a dealer for a problem, but this is very annoying. I have a few issues with my 14 that drive me nuts. The seat, my rear floor sounds like an old oil can, and it has a tick at idle. Every time my dog moves around in the back the floor sounds like an old oil can. I can go back there and press on the floor and it pops up and down...Thinking on trading it for a different brand.

Tick at idle? Are you hearing the injectors as they do such on a DI engine.

Another seat fixed. Less than $5. Bought everything at lowes. Works perfect

For everyone that is having the seat issue this is the easiest/fastest known way to fix it. I know a lot of us think we shouldn't be fixing anything on a new truck but this will save you plenty of headaches. This over taking it to the dealership any day! I used the exact same items listed above. IT WORKS.

Two weeks into ownership of my brand new truck and my next "mod" is to fix one of their design problems! Weak sauce GMC!

Either way, sounds like i'll give this a shot and not mess with taking it to the dealership

I had a couple hose clamps in my tool box and I just sliced up a piece of old garden hose to go with it. For the first time in a month I enjoyed driving my $56,000 truck. Well done GM, oh wait they didn't help and they still took their sweet time NOT helping me. And the dealer told me it was normal, big props to them to, thanks much.

Hey hose clamp guy, you ever in MA look me up. I'm buying you a nice steak

Buying my nephew one too, I took him for a ride yesterday and he helped me find a rattle. I could have sworn I didn't order a rattle with my truck but the nice folks at GM must have decided I deserved a free one for the $400,000 I've spent in the last 8 years. Thanks GM, you are just too good to me.

PS

The rattle my nephew pinpointed for me is in the sunglasses holder, there is a little tab hanging down that locks it locks and unlocks it. I put some foam in behind it to stop the rattle. I had it in to the dealer for that too, they told me the passengers front door was out of alignment so they fixed it right up for me, too bad that wasn't it. Thanks again GM, i'll see you in the spring when I am ready for a new sports car, oh wait, no I won't. Because I won't be shopping GM anymore. I'm thinking a Hell Kitty is in my future.

PPS

Apologies to the nice lady who had the misfortune of calling me for my GM service visit survey last week.

And to Eddie from GM who had the gaul to respond to this thread on the 14th, you have got to be kidding me. Have you actually read any of the posts in this thread. You have some serious nerve young man.
