I have a present waiting for me from RX performance. Gonna see if I can get it installed tonight.

Question though. On my 5.3L, which port goes to which opening on the can?

Never mind, found an earlier post, so basically the hose from under the throttle body with go into the center hole on the can. And the hose on the driver side cover will go to the offset hole on the can.

I can feel a buzzy feeling in the throttle at certain RPM's after I installed the RX. Let me know if you notice it to. I also did the throttle peddle flex mod too...but the buzz in the peddle was there before the mod.

Ordered an Elite can which should be here tomorrow for the wife's Acadia but she'd had enough of the milkshake issues and traded it in today for a Nissan. Looks like I get a can for my 14 Silverado now. I'd have to say I'm happy with this outcome. The wife's happy again and I get the added protection on my truck. Hopefully I'll have time to get it installed in the next few days.

I could feel a vibration after installing my RX can also. I followed Newm's idea on page 24 and installed some rubber radiator hose pieces on each side of the mount and that took most of the vibration away. It was noticeable in the pedals at lower RPM's on the highway. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/154204-oil-catch-can/page-24 I still have a slight vibration I can feel in the floor board at highway speed, but I attribute that to tires needing a balancing now.

yea there was a post earlier in this thread about having the RX can mounted to the brake booster. The leverage from the can gets amplified through the brake booster and you feel it in the pedals. Look back a bit in the thread and see. One guy used some tubing cut in half mounted in between the can and the bracket to help the vibration.

HI 07Softail,

I installed an ADD W1 can and had a fairly loud suction sound under the hood and a buzzing sound in the cab when taking off slowly could even hear the buzzing over the trans whine in first gear. I took my can off for now will think it over some more.

The rubber helps but doesn't seem to totally eliminate the vibs on mine either. Close but not completely. I need to experiment with some other way maybe but it hasn't bothered me enough yet.....or just move the can.

Yep you have it routed correctly.

I felt the buzz in my pedal too after installing the catch can. As fondupot said it's from the can being mounted to the break booster and the interior of the can shakes/rattles as the gasses pass through it and this get's transmitted through the break booster to the fire wall and down to the accelerator pedal. I will say after about a 1,000 miles the vibration settled down though. I'm assuming it's from the interior parts of the can, most likely the filter media, getting some oil on it and dampening the shaking around that is taking place on the inside. It's still there, but not as bad. I can live with it and I'm happy with the results of the can so it doesn't bother me. Especially since it doesn't happen at cruising RPM's, just under light acceleration.

I am going to put some 1/4-20 rubber isolators on the bracket and cut some rubber hose and install between the booster and bracket and call it good. Thanks Guys.

EDIT: I installed the 2 rubber isolators and a 1"x 1"x 1/8" piece of rubber between the bracket and booster and the buzzy throttle is gone.

I read somewhere that Toyota addresses the valve buildup issues by having a special combination port injection/direct injection engine design. Leave it to the Japanese to figure out something better.....as always. Can anyone confirm this? I'm having a difficult time finding information on the internet but I'm also at work and can't really look into it right now.

Yes Toyota calls it D4-S. I think only a few of their engines are using it. I read that the new Tacoma will have it on a 3.5L V6 that is replacing the 4.0L V6 they have used for a long time.
