Oil catch can?

Recommended Posts

Have you installed you catch can yet? I'm really interested because its a plug and play. What's it going to cost you? How long will the hoses end up being?

Hey sorry for the delay, I am hoping to have it in by next week. Cost is going to be ~$200 and hose length provided will depend your motor. V6 and V8 5.3 will be a few feet more than the V8 6.2 due to the location of the intake manifold inlet.

Just drained my RC Catch can on my 5.3l engine after 700 miles. It's been unusually cold here in the North East which may explain why the oil looks like coffee!

What appears to be bubbles in the photo is actually texture on the measuring glass I used. I need to find a better glass (steal something from the wife's kitchen maybe) :idiot:

Looks to be a little over an ounce.

My RX can arrived today (5.3) and I just put it in. It only took a week and a half to get here and everything seems satisfactory so far.

What are you guys doing with your drain tube? Sorry if I missed any explanation on that. It almost seems unneeded because I could fit a small cup under the drain valve.

Also, they gave me a ziplock bag full of barbed fittings and I don't need any of them. Am I missing something? I assume they're given just in case.

Lastly, just to be clear, no body cut apart the stock hose and reused those quick-connect fittings with the new hose, right? Everyone just put the new, given hose right up to the smooth male fittings off the engine?

Yes I dont need the drain tube either. And I assume they send everything as a package regardless of application...so the extras are included for different cars.

I didn't use any of the barbed fittings that came with my RX catch can. I just put a cup underneath the can when I need to drain.
