Oil catch can?

Recommended Posts

What is the AN size on the RX can.... I'm wanting to do the Dual exit mod. I'm guessing -6 but not sure

When I did the upgrade on my RX can I used a 3/8" drill bit with a 1/4" NPT tap. Hopefully that helps you.

So a -8 to 1/4 pipe nipple and a -8 90 degree 3/8 barbed fitting correct. I'm using standard 3/8 rubber hose and want to get the same size 90 degree fitting and straight fitting as the original ones. -8 sounds too large to me

For GM applications 3/8" id hose, or -8 AN lines will work with the AN style clamps.

Ford takes mainly 1/2" or a -10 braided AN line on most.

-8 is half inch, -6 is 3/8. -10 is 5/8.

Correct, but the AN braided line as far as fitment over a push'lock AN fitting works the next size up. Trying to push the -6 over 3/8" barb is very difficult so the -8 fits slightly snug, and then use a AN clamp end to secure them and so on. The Elite cans come with true AN screw on fittings, so then the -6 would be used, but it is then difficult to fit the barbs into as they are a 3/8" barb. I think most get the push-lock style AN fittings so if wanting to use the braided line, then using the next AN size up makes it easier for the installer (as long as you use the AN clamp ends like these:

This makes a nice clean install when used on each end of the braided line at the checkvalves and other fittings.

Thanks!!!

Got my catch can in yesterday. Not a single direction in the box. I told them I wanted to mount it in the spare battery location. So since there's no directions, where does it actually mount? To the bottom of the battery tray? To the battery tie down support?

Well the only place that made since with the bracket they supplied was to bolt it down to the bottom of the battery tray. I'll get pics shortly. Hopefully I did it right.

Here's how it's mounted. Has anyone else mounted it like this? It's bolted down to the bottom of the spare battery tray.

Here's another mounted in that area. The way you have it doesn't leave much room for drainage.

Flip the bracket around to attach to the washer bottle. That said I have a piece of 3/8" stainless tubing off the valve on mine thay drains over past the pcm so I can easily get a pop bottle under it
