These two are always guarding the back seat

The little one is Daphne a 3 year old Lab/retriever beagle mix we just rescued from the humane society. She's a great dog, but had a pretty shitty life before us, she was found tied to a dumpster pregnant in the coldest winter we've had in years. We got her about a month ago. She's recovering well, but still very skiddish around new people…

The big goofy one with her tongue out is Kenzie a 11 month old Lab/retriever collie mix we adopted 9 months ago from the same shelter. She was found in a box with her siblings on the same island as Daphne, we think there is a good chance they are related, not mother and daughter, but maybe aunt and niece… They are two great dogs, even if the younger one is going through her rebellious teens…

They were both found on a native reserve, notorious in our area for wild dogs, just down the river from my home town…
