Price paid?

Helps on figuring sales tax too since there are no rebates involved.

Is sales tax really figured out on MSRP minus Trade and not factoring in rebates? I figured the final sales tax is decided after discounts/rebates and in some states, trade.

The rebates are taxed. For example, if a truck is 50,000 with a 10,000 rebate and 8% tax, the price is $44,000 and not $43,200.

The trade value is not taxed a 2nd time as this was paid at the time of original sale.

Thanks for the information. I was fortunate enough to get a similar discount this week on a new truck, also!

Excellent!!

For me, it was a good deal and hard to walk away from. But I had just gotten my '14 Silvy back in January, so it was strange to get rid of it so soon. But for my needs, this Sierra with max tow will be better in the long run for my needs.

I did something similar. I had a double cab SLE purchased 16 months ago and upgraded to a crew cab SLT with navigation, leather, All Terrain, and other bells & whistles. The discount truly made the transaction VERY attractive by taking away much of the depreciation on my trade! I paid about $36k for the SLE last year and got 29k on trade. The new SLT listed for $52k and was discounted just shy of 13,500.

Thanks for the info. I have always bought my new vehicles in Minnesota. That is why I was unsure.

Well I found one of them 20% deals - 2015 Sierra SLT, CCSB, max tow. I did it and paid just over $37k.

Just under $49k.

$12k off a $49k truck is ~25% off the MSRP. How are you able to get the price lower than 20% MSRP? Are there other incentives that can be stacked with the 20% of MSRP deal?
