Price paid?

Recommended Posts

MSRP on my 2014 Silverado at 10/14 as 46965. I spent about 6 hours total at dealership and walked out paying 36000. I feel pretty good with that based on some of the other posts ive seen here.........They did try to get be with the high interest from Ally (5.34 %) and said " most people usually wait at least a year to refinance." I waited two weeks and cut the rate by more that half at my back haha

How does that add up to $15k?

Based on what he said, it was a difference of less than $12K. The last I heard, South Carolina caps new vehicle sales tax at $300, so he didn't pay thousands in tax like most folks do.

Correct Tri-C. Tax capped at $300 and transfer of tag keeps those costs down to a minimum compared to other states. Discount off MSRP with all rebates/incentives was as you said. This was on a 2014 that had the truck month incentives - that is important I think as the dealer has extra incentives to move these trucks. If you do a search on Chevrolet.com in your area, you can see which trucks fall under truck month program. I use the Laura gmc web site as a benchmark to see what discounts off msrp might reach. I actually thought about flying there to get a Denali but am very happy with the deal here.

Went to the local dealer to see about the 'Chevy Truck Month' deals and was quite tempted by what they came up with. I told them I only wanted the oldest stock to save the extra 1750 for Truck Month. He had a couple of LTZ's that did not qualify and he told me he would give me $1500 under GMs price + all rebates. If I wanted the LT instead that did qualify, he would use the 1750 instead of the extra 1500. Here is the details....No taxes calculated.....and I qualify for GMS price....oh and I get to keep my 22" GM Wheels and put on new truck!

2014 LTZ CrewCab (MSRP=$49,870)

2500 Consumer cash

1500 Private Pop-up Voucher (used in place of the $1000 Loyalty)

2000 Trade Assistance

5135 GMS Pricing (off MSRP)

1500 (dealer discount)

Total Discount off MSRP=$12635

Final Before Taxes = $37235

He has two LTZs, one with the 6.2 less options, and a 5.3 with more options...almost exactly same MSRP. Not sure if I am going to take the bite or not. What do you guys think? Good deal?

Seems like a nice deal, but only if you are going to keep the truck some years. Buying a 2014 now is essentially buying a very low mileage used truck, if you were to try to sell it. Expect that it has already taken a 5-7K depreciation hit.

Discount off MSRP, about $3000. Rebates and incentives (truck month incentives) of about $6750, plus the gm card earnings. There are good deals to be had on some of the truck month vehicles.

The added information makes it sound a lot more believable than the initial post. Basically, $9750 off on a leftover top line model truck. I would have expected more than $3000 off a leftover model year truck to be honest, but the hefty rebates made it a deal I would have taken as well.

Interesting. I was told there would be a prepayment penalty equal to the rebate for 6 months. Had to wait that long before paying it off or basically you had to pay back the rebate. Might be the dealer doesn't get his kick back unless you keep it 6 months, so they try to make it sound like I would have to myself. Not going to play that game, so doesn't matter for me.

What is GMS Pricing? I don't see Supplier pricing being $5k+ off on that truck as the ones I've been pricing are in the same MSRP range, and only $3500 or so off. I know building them online, it includes the customer cash in the price, so you may be double listing discounts that won't all be there in the end. I'd check carefully.

If he's discounting the price $6635 off MSRP, and you qualify for $6k in rebates. Sounds like a great deal to me so long as they aren't getting it back in a low ball offer on the trade in.

2015 LTZ Z71 4x4 5.3 loaded minus sunroof, sticker was $51xxx and I paid just shy of $40200 not including tax on 12/22/14.

I'd like to see the breakdown of your deal. Trade involved? Huge rebates, or discount?
