Just found Lighthouse gmc out of Morton,il and seem to also have good $$. just hope when ready there are good incentives.

Great deal on financing. Did you do that through gm?

I got the financing at the GMC dealership, but the actual loan is from Wells Fargo. Works for since I have a Wells Fargo branch right in my town. So now I can save stamps and not mail it. That saves me $6/ year.

When you go to buy your new truck, make sure that you do not have to buy that day. Make sure, that you can drive your current truck for another year. This puts you in a position to leave if they aren't talking the right numbers. I got up and left in the middle of my sale bc they weren't talking the right numbers. They contacted me a few days later asking what they had to do to make the sale.

To get me in the door, they said they would extend their black Friday sale of 20% off msrp.

If they ever say they can't lose any more money on that vehicle, bc its already below invoice, get up and leave and go to another dealership. That's 100% a lie. GM gives the dealership money no matter where they sell the truck. The more above gms price, the more sales commission the dealership makes. But if you purchase at below invoice.... they will still get a check for $500. Then if it's been on their lot for less than 30 days, they get another $500.

Do your research: know what you can afford. Know what price payments you want. Know what finance rates you want. Make them work for you

The Irish4life guy may have had to play the walk out game with his dealer in DE. But both Bart Rinkenberger(owner/mgr) at Lighthouse in Morton, IL & Laura GMC are straight up good people.

If either have what you are looking for, they will work to make sure you get the deal you want or as advertised. Neither have a reputation for bait & switch type tactics. So you can go

in & meet them, drive what you like & not worry about sitting under a spotlight high pressured buy now sort of sales pitch.

As far as timing the sales, there usually is a spring & fall truck month in addition to trade bonuses for GM vehicles 1999 or newer.

Got my GMC SLT Z71 4X4 Crew Cab the Monday before Christmas. MSRP was 51,300. Got 14,000 on my trade in of a 2007 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4x4. Got 10,000 off in rebates and what dealer came off. 2.9 interest rate. With interest I'm getting it for right at 30,000. Probably could have got another 1000 or 2 if I would have walked but I didn't and I'm pretty happy with the deal. One thing about Toyotas is they hold their resale value! Hopefully this truck will be as good as that one. Never had to do a thing to it for the 7 1/2 years I had it.

Its Line-X. The dealership that currently has the truck put a drop in liner in. I hate them so asked for Line-x. My dealer said he will set the appt up with the line-x guy. I just have to take it there then and DONE! One mod off the list.
