Price paid?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, new to the forums and this is my first post. I am hoping to purchase a new truck at the end of the year and was wondering if you think the numbers I came up with will be doable at the end of this year. I'm looking at getting a 2014 Sierra or 2015 F150, which ever one I can get a better deal on.

If I go the GMC route, I want a 2014 Sierra Crew Cab Standard Box SLE 4WD 5.3L V8, with SLE Value Package and Front Cloth Bucket Seats. Do you think I could get this truck for around 37K including TTL? If not, what would be a reasonable price?

I'm leaning towards the end of the year to make the purchase in hopes that there might be some used ones with low miles on them. If not, I will just buy new.

Good for you if you can get it but I don't think that price is really possible at the moment. I do think though you could get that same truck for $37k plus TTL

Thanks for the reply JJ. CA taxes will probably bring the total up to 40K then. I guess I will just have to save up a little longer and put down a bigger down payment or look for a slightly used one. Thanks again for the response.

I bought the same truck 2 weeks ago so there is my reference :) I got employee pricing plus $4k off in rebates. Do yourself a favor though, get the GMC. This truck is unbelievable and I cant believe there is better out there!

Gotcha. Yeah I really like the Sierra. Just trying to find out what deal to expect since I'll probably be throwing another 6K into the truck for wheels, tires and lift.

Would think the first 6 months of F150's rolling around, Ford is going to want as much as they can get for them. So that is going to put you roughly this time next year before they get competitive as they are now.

First post here..... Lurking just since I pulled the trigger on a new truck about a month ago. Never had any issues with my '89 Silverado from the day I drove it off the lot until the day I sold it a few weeks ago.

Total including tax, tags, license, dealer processing, etc was 33,266. That's for a '14 Silverado LT Z71 Double Cab, All Star, LT Plus (with power rear window), Heated Seats, OWL 18" tires, and Trailer Brake Controller. The truck also had, but no additional cost listed, the factory drop in bed liner.

You boys that pay that much for a vehicle are outta your ever loving minds.

Why do you say that? Yeah it seems like a huge number but with inflation everything is going to cost more. I remember when a $20k vehicle was considered astronamical, now it's considered a solid used vehicle.

How long does the typical person finance a truck at that price 6-7-8 years? Yes some can afford large down payments or trade ins but sorry paying for a vehicle what ya pay for a house is nuts.

true, but the last time i had a truck payment was 2003. my last truck i had for 15 yrs. Time that i spoil myself. no buyer's remorse here. the extra options is well worth it. i plan on keeping this truck for another 15 yrs. i guess it all depends on what you use your truck for too.

A $50k truck which mine is listed for almost $57 is no where close to my house payment monthly. A lot of people can afford it, calling someone nuts because its within their personal means is well nuts. I and many many others aren't going to be car poor after a purchase. That being said I think paying $80+ for a damn escalade is wild but many can afford it as well. No reason to knock them.
