How does one find out who the highest volume dealers are?

Also, any negotiating tips when none of the dealers in your city have what you're looking for?

You can tell by the amount of inventory they carry. Normally the larger dealers are the higher volume selling; that's how they get more allotments of vehicles to sell from GM.

The answer to the second half of your question, is be willing to travel out of state. If your local dealer has to bring in a vehicle, chances are higher they won't have as much room to negotiate over the truck as they have to trade for it.

Put in my order today for Denali 4wd CC SB w/cocoa leather, 6.2L, Iridium, z-71, brake control, drivers alert, sunroof and thrown in line-x premium w/ uv. Negotiated adding 2.5" level kit, change out denali chrome 20" for 20" gray all terrain stock and changing out for 275/65/20 nitto terra grapplers for an added $500 for the off road package.

$56,835 msrp...$39,500($8k trade value)+$500(level/rim/tire) = OTD tax/title/for $41,267.09. Discount including rebates was $9335. I feel thrilled, y'all agree?

Now just trying to decide if I want to keep the chrome standard side steps and go with nfab across side 3 steps.

2014 Sierra 1500 4WD SLT. Bought yesterday (last day of the month)

Inquired more than 10 dealers (that had the truck that I wanted) between Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

All dealer had a similar "start point":

$1k off as "option package discount"

and $6k to $6.5 additional off.

Just 3 dealers dropped from this $6k to $6.5 off.

Tried to buy one with 6.2, but just the dealers that did not reduce the prices (sales goal already achieved?? just few 6.2 available??) had that. Considering the additional cost of the 6.2 ($2k) and the additional discount from other dealers, the difference between the 5.3 and 6.2, in the real world, was more than $5k... no way.

Finally bought a 5.3 with the local dealer that matched the best discount that I got:

MSRP: $52,010

Option package discount: -$1,000

Dealer discount (including GM rebates, etc): -$ 9,000

OTD: $ 44,760 (including TTL)

No trade-in, no GM supplier discount, etc.

Very happy with the new truck.

2014 1500 Denali with 6.2 MSRP 55240 paid 48500 no tax for me I am military. YESSSSSS. I got to this price by walking out after negotiations and not getting to my numbers. That's better than USAA Pricing said 5k off was a great deal I got 6740 off and a line-x bed liner to and they took off all the decals. Not the best work I have done but not the worst either.

Sticker on 2014 SLE Sierra All terrain Z71 short bed 50999...payed 46000 before rebates and negative equity.

Sold my trade for 10000 owed 12600 2004 silverado 1177xx miles had a accident on its carfax and usually only got 7k or 8k offered or less at just about every dealer I went to. I also got 3500 in rebates off of the vehicle, but that barely covered my negative equity in the truck. With tax title License and gap and negative equity it cam out to about 47xxx out the door.

The truck has the Sle value package, all terrain package, it will be getting the crome 6" square flat running boards, and linex in the bed. Boise sound system, heated leather trimed seats (does anyone else have just the leather trimed seats? this was the only truck I found in N.M that had that kind of setup.) under seat storage, LED Bed lighting two sets of vehicle mats one all terrain and regular GMC mats. overall It is a huge upgrade and I feel that its alot of money nomatter what might as well get what you want out of it.

any thoughts the good the bad the ugly?

Did you seriously just come on here, laying out your selling of one vehicle with negative equity in order to buy a more expensive vehicle with even more negative equity and then ask if it was good?!?

Seriously?

Since you asked...

I see very little (if any) good here, and a whole lot of UGLY.

Good Lord man! Whatever you are doing when it comes to buying vehicles, STOP IT!!!

How did you manage to owe almost $13K on a 2004 truck?!?

You just seem to be digging yourself and even deeper hole here. You were 'only' $3K upside down on your last truck, now you are what... $7K - $8K upside down on this one!

Then again maybe being completely upside down on a truck is totally worth it to have one of those sweet BOISE stereos. Luckily, you didn't settle for that crappy Bose package because it only comes with 6 speakers and no amp in an SLE like yours.

Now that you will be paying GAP insurance for the foreseeable future, I certainly hope you didn't buy it from the dealer who gave you this sweet deal... They typically want to charge you like $15 per month for it, when you can probably get it from your auto insurance carrier for about $15 for the whole year.

Regardless, I hope you enjoy the heck out of the new truck!

Yeah it looks bad I know. California truck with California taxes. Retarded. It was honestly the first vehicle I purchased so rates on it sucked. Now not so much and the truck is loaded. I'm missing out on a few options but I guess some people have all the luck cheers.seriously lol

I had the option of going with a Double Cab 1W/T when I bought my 1 W/T Reg Cab.

Stripped 1W/T would have run me 25k plus tax if I didn't do a trade in. Your truck has a bunch of upgrades- I'd say you did very well.

I'm definitely happy with the truck and I think I got a fair deal. Everything has been as advertised so far. Very impressed with the interior and the overall ride quality. I don't really understand why they're not selling well but it helped me get a good deal so I'm not complaining.

Just bought my new truck yesterday.

2014 LT z71 double cab standard bed Tungsten metallic 4x4

truck 38925

cloth bucket seats heated 795

5.3L engine 1095

all star edition 1730

all star package discount -750

total model and options 41795

destination 1095

total 42890

believe if you add that 750 back in that gives an MSRP of 43640 on the truck

Its quite a mystery to me how they arrive at all the numbers and I couldn't seem to follow it but looking at my sales receipt heres what I have

price of vehicle 39970.86

doc fee 250

trade in 6000 (prob got me for 500-1000) It was an 06 ext cab 4x4 WT with 152k on it, cracked windshield some rust and airbag light on. Well maybe I got them, the world will never know heater core was just starting to go out.

sales tax 2370.66

title fee 15

cash down 4600

rebate factory incentive 6150 (4750 cash allowance + 400 business owner + 1000 private offer)

balance due 26756.52 financed 60 months @ 2.24

So by the math I believe I should have gotten 3850 off on the MSRP of the truck for supplier pricing plus 750 option package discount.

I got 3669.14 so they hosed me there 185$

but im kind of thinking they shouldn't have taken my expired private offer from April for a truck purchased in May but oh well here we are.

Total off MSRP 9819.14

So dealer called me about 4 hours after I left yesterday and says hey that private offer coupon you gave us was expired, we need another coupon or 1000

Im thinking deals a deal, eat it?

Am I wrong?

I wonder if they would let me bring the truck back now with 100 miles on it if I decided I paid too much?

I would say it is on them. They should not have accepted the expired coupon and I think that they know it. They are just hoping that you will give in. And I like your question back to them as well.
