Price paid?

Recommended Posts

Well we will find out tomorrow. I sent 3 different dealerships my "demands" for what I want to pay and what I want for my truck. We will see if I get any responses back saying yes or come on it and lets chat. 1 is local and 2 are in IL so no biggie if I have to travel but asking for around 20ish off MSRP. Hell I even told one dealership to take off the damn running boards are they are balls ugly and save me the $700.

Picked up my first [ever] pick-up yesterday, a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT All Star Edition. Shopped around, but ended up going to a dealer about 40 mins from me (western NY). MSRP was $45k, final cost was a little over $34k, including everything but tax, which added about 3k to the final price. No haggling on price at dealer, which was a huge plus. Their discount (4,200) was clearly marked on the sticker price.

I went to the dealer I ended up buying from first and was quoted the above price. I visited several other dealerships and provided them the quote to see if they could match/beat it. No one even came close and I was told by one dealer (in joking fashion) to leave immediately and go buy that truck. So I did.

Lucky you! I can't get any of these damn dealers to move on price. Found a "new used" '17 and msrp is 49k and they won't budge off 39k even though it has 5k miles. WI and IL dealers suck

Well biting the bullet tomorrow, dealer gave me 17,500 for my truck (12 Silverado w/ 105K) and MSRP was 48,789. Walking out for the door with a new truck for $19,500! Selling the steps too, hate those damn things!

Got my new 2017 stone blue Denali ultimate with everything for 54,500 out the door. 64000 msrp, I didn't have any sales tax because I traded almost even (2015 Denali duramax) so I only had tabs and the truck.

I felt like I won the lottery by coming across a brand new standard 2017 beautiful blue Sierra Elevation Edition double cab V8/6 speed with tow package for $29,500 out the door (including tax/license/reg) in northern California. It was a long few hours at the dealership with a couple of "let me go ask my manager" situations but it all worked out in the end. It was the last day of the month in January and I assume they needed to get it off the lot but ya never know. I could stare at that truck all day long! :happysad: The only buzzkill (other than the annoying final paperwork walkthrough) was the 20 minute setup with On-Star after I finally got possession of the truck when all I wanted to do was press on the gas and drive away!

Forums like this are very helpful when researching problems or add-ons... thanks mods!

It was at Dublin, CA GMC. It was heavily discounted with 2,000 consumer cash, 1,000 trade allowance on my 2000 Tahoe, 3,000 GMC IVC? discount, another 3,000 dealership discount and then their website accidentally had it listed for 1,000 less than the discounted price. Put $6,000 cash down and they lowered the price a little more when swaying me to finance through them instead of my bank. It's definitely "bare bones" with no leather or fancy dash board but that didn't bother me. I went there looking for a used GMC Sierra and the new truck ended up being around the same price. My suggestion to any new buyer is to be patient. I've seen some great deals that randomly come up at the same dealership on different models of the Sierra but they always sell within a few days.

Now that GM is giving 20% off select Silverado's, how much of that does the dealer have to contribute? If all GM, does dealer still have 15-20% off to give? I suspect not, as you can't get a new truck for 35-40% off.

Anybody know?
