Price paid?

Local dealership is having a presidents day sale on 2017 Black Silverado 2WD 1500 LT Crew Cab Short Box with All Star package.

Here's the details: Any advice on getting this lower? I don't want to finance through GM as I'm sure I can get lower elsewhere.

MSRP: 42,900

Bonus Tag cash allowance: $3,000

Finance through GM - $2,000

Cash Allowance - $1,500

Package Cash - $1,000

Price after offers - $32,819

Seems like a solid deal, it's what I'm looking for, but always hoping to get lower of course. Any thoughts on the price?

That's 23% off so sounds good. If they rape you on the rate financing through them, simply refinance it at your local credit union a month later or so. They are giving you a $2000 rebate because they hope to make that back in interest.

Seems like an average price. I think you should be able to easily beat it. My local dealer had a comparable one for $28.7 ($44305 MSRP) last month. Mid $28 to low $29 was my range for 4x2 all star or texas edition crew cabs.

Currently, my local dealer has this $30.9K truck ($45K MSRP)(https://tinyurl.com/hqs25oh)

Not a great deal since GM is advertising $12,000 off certain 1500's.

ask to see the invoice, by law they have to show it to you, don't start at the msrp. the rule of thumb is a fair price is $500.00 over invoice, then take the rebates off of that price. no one pays or even considers the MSPR anymore. bonus tag might be the same program they had last year where they can designate certain vehicles as old age units and be reimbursed by GM for the rebate.

Do you know which ones? Are they the $42,000 trucks or the $52,000 trucks. Big difference.

Seems to be all over the place. I've seen some dealers advertise the Texas edition and others SLT crew cabs. Which does make sense because vehicle sales in general are in the tank right now.

I'm glad I found this site and thread, helped me tremendously.

I just picked up a '17 Silverado ccsb LT 4x4

Sticker - 47,855

Price paid - 32,267

Out the door under 35k.

I started looking for a truck 2 months ago hoping to find a low mileage used one for 30k. When I found this site and thread I knew it may be possible to get close to my budget with a new one.

"by law they have to show it to you"

Where did you get that from?

And ----- $500 over invoice is a terrible price.

by law in the state of Washington. Not sure about other states, but it does not hurt to ask.

how would you know if it was if you do not what invoice price is? I said that it is a rule of thumb that dealers go by. They make some money and can pay their sales people.

Invoice, except for regional ad fees, is pretty easy to come by - and pretty much meaningless. Between holdback, manufacturer to dealer incentives, and other spiffs, invoice can be several thousand dollars more than true dealer cost. The last time invoice meant anything in regard to effective horse trading was about 25 years ago.

so, how many vehicles have you bought at or below true dealer cost? Is that dealership still in business?

Did I say I had bought "vehicles" at or below true dealer cost? Can you point out where I wrote that? Below true dealer cost and below invoice are two entirely different things.

so, I thought the point of these threads was to be able to share your thoughts/opinions to try to help fellow GM enthusiasts. but you attack my opinion, rather than suggest any help to the poster. I take it that you at one time, maybe still sell cars since you are such an expert. I did work in the auto industry, and do understand what you are trying to say. the poster was just asking, is this a good deal?
