I don't get it, casting shame on a business for trying to make a profit or what exactly?

People come here to get as much info as possible either pre sale or after. If you think that is a good deal, feel free to buy it.

Looking at ORDERING a

2017 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab 5.3l, V8, short box, 2WD

With Packages:

SLT Crew Cab Premium Plus Package

MaX Trailering Package

Figure the Max Trailering package will bump things up to a tow max of 11000 and a 7400 GVWR. while still maintaining decent MPG when not towing.

Per GM's build a price

TOTAL VEHICLE AND OPTIONS

$53,020
Destination Freight Charge:
$1,295
TOTAL BEFORE PACKAGE SAVINGS
$54,315
Package Discount
- $1,250
TOTAL VEHICLE PRICE
$53,065

Dealer offer $46,895.

Add Doc fee $179, TTL (CA state about $4000) and GM incentives which come June might be at least $4000. So looking at right now roughly 47K if everything pans out.

What do you think about this price?

Good deal is typically sell price at 20% off Factory MSRP so lets do some basic math 53065 divided by 100 x 80% = $42,452.00 sell price plus TTL so yeah looks pretty good so far. See if you can snag another 4k GM incentives and then you would have a killer deal. I think everyone understands that you cannot always get a killer deal the timing needs to work out in your favor. There are many trucks sold right at MSRP every day and thank goodness there are. That leaves some room for all us tight wads to operate in after they have gutted some succers LOL

Around here if you order a truck (vs shop the dealer lot inventory) they will give you about 10% off MSRP.

Buying from their on site inventory toward the end of the month will get you maybe 20% off MSRP - and sometimes even more.

I told my friend you want at least 20% off MSRP. So he walked onto a dealership, picked a truck, told the salesman he want 20% off and they said "You got it" - I have no idea how much more he may have save if he haggled ...

Lol he sucks at negotiating and didn't do any research I guess. For January and now into February GMC is offering $10k off msrp on SLT models. That right there puts you right at 20%. I assume Chevy is doing something similar as well.

20% of $53,065 is $10613. Minus that and $42,452 is what you get.

Yeah, so the dealer offer is not at 20% MSRP, but short by $4438.

At $46,890- minus the current incentive of $4342 comes out to $42,540. Minus another $500 incentive for farmers = $42,040

Add doc fee $179 = $42,219 plus TTL = $46,234 OTD.

I plan on ordering the first part of April, before order options for 2017 production closes. So who knows what the incentives will be in JUNE, if that is when the truck arrives at the dealer, maybe July? Another $4K of incentives would surely be great, making about 8.5K GM incentives. Just not sure how much of that would really apply to an ordered vehicle in the event things got enticing with incentives. If I can get the OTD down to $42K I would be very pleased and of course even more so if I could get 25% off MSRP.

Now how do I get the dealer down another 4K or more? Remember it's an order so like it was mentioned I'm not sure how much they will be willing to budge. Will Laura, Ill. budge on price for an order?

Is that every SLT or only the last 10% which have been on the lot longest etc?? Because this is what it says on the bottom of their flyer:

1. Sierra based on MSRP of $54,000. Yukon based on MSRP of $72,045. On 10% of select vehicles in dealer stock while stocks lasts. Not compatible with some other offers. Take delivery by 2/28/17. See participating dealer for details.

Check Laura GMC in Collinsville, Illinois about 45 minutes outside St. Louis Missouri. Please from all over the country fly in everyday to buy their GMC trucks. They even have a shuttle runs to pick you up from airport. Their prices are crazy good.......largest volume dealer in the US

They are very well known on this site. Lots of good experience threads about people buying them there.

If you are not trying to negotiate in a trade and are paying cash then yes you can probably do a bit better on the price. However keep in mind that a person has to figure out what their time is worth. If your time is worth 500 bucks an hour and you spend 40 hours messing with your deal, it might not be all that great? LOL.

No trade in. Not financing through them. Live in Ca and would fly out to Laura if the deal is enticing.

The $46890 is from Laura, without any negotiating. Just not sure how I can get them down further on an ordered truck.

They don't have the truck I want on their lot, in fact no one has the max trailering with the Slt Premium plus and 2wd 5.3l crew cab and color perference.
