Price paid?

Recommended Posts

No.

I am an optimist but cannot justify how vehicle prices have skyrocketed in last 10 years when wages have not.

Before I start getting a bunch of bs about how I must not make any money, no rc that it's any of your business but I made north of 100k last year, although I do realize that, that is chump change when new trucks are $50k.

Chrysler is looking at massive recalls and buybacks on 08-12 models, and 12-15 models now.

Toyota paid out roughly $1.2 billion in fines alone over failing to disclose and recognize defects.

Volkswagen built in cheats in emissions software.

Somehow this is acceptable and bailing out the car manufacturers was acceptable.

Canada bailed them out to, to the tune of $6 billion, but they did it smart.

Canada told GM and Chrysler that if they took the money, they could not close any plants in Canada.

Pretty smart, although we had some here argue for the same deal and they were called isolationist.

My point is, that maybe if the automobile industry built a quality product for a fair price, not only would their sales and customer loyalty go up, but they would sell more vehicles consistently, and their business model would actually be sustainable.

Don't worry this is my last post.

I'm done reading about Internet millionaires paying cash for new trucks when in reality they have 84 month payment plans that have them strapped to their eyeballs.

I think prices and percentage off msrp. varies by what region of country you are located. Small to medium size dealerships pretty much know what truck combo's are in demand for their area. I have found mostly trucks with the most desired features bending 30% off msrp is not the norm. Depending on gm rebates it seems the sweet spot is 20 to 24% . Some huge dealer in New York city may offer better prices everyday than say a much smaller dealer in Bangor , maine . Many times dealer volume factory incentives come into play that more rural dealerships simply don't have because of much lower population draws.

If the 31% off question was for me,there was no trade, just last day of the month. I bought the truck on 2/29.

They were advertising $14k off of 2015s and I originally went in for one of those, but they sold the one I wanted before I got there. While I was there I looked up the trucks on their website and expanded my search to 2016s also and found this truck listed in the middle of the 2015s for 30400, sticker 44,400. I didn't even try to get anymore off.

It's a silver 2016 LT 2wd crew cab, standard bed, with Texas package and 20 inch wheels as the only options.

2015 GMC Sierra SLE with Carbon 20 package, and dealer added bedliner, wheel locks, and running boards. Sticker was $45k, out the door for $31k. This was a demo with 2k miles on it. I'm very happy with this deal!

Silver Metallic with the carbon fiber graphics make the truck look sleek!

Has anyone purchased a truck and titled it under their business' name? Did you receive more favorable pricing doing it this way?

I did... all my trucks are under my company name. And honestly no... it made no difference over what I can get paying personally. I am the 30% kind of guy and got 29% on this truck... but it's all my dealing and nothing to do with what name I register it in. Maybe down in the US it's different... but I doubt it. I did supposedly get some corporate discount from the one company in contract too... but I don't see where lol. They didn't even ask for proof one way or the other to show if I worked with them... so it mattered that much. To be honest I don't even usually tell the dealer anything with regards to who is buying the truck until we are signing paperwork and I ask for my company name on the paperwork.

The only time I have seen this work is when I worked for Ensign Drilling. The company purchased so many Dodges a year that they gave a pretty hefty discount to any employee that was wanting to purchase a new dodge truck. My brother in law got a pretty good deal on a new Dodge 1500 but he also took the fleet purchasing manager with him so they knew exactly who they were dealing with.

Anyone have suggestions on how to respond to "the price on our website is our bottom price"? I'm going a few hundred miles away to find the truck with the configuration that I want. So, I don't really want to walk. MSRP is $52k, "Bottom Price" is $43k. About 17.5% off. Other dealers about the same distance away are even higher and are not negotiating. I'm guessing they would play ball once I am in their showroom, but I'd really like to iron out particulars before flying there.

If they tell you that upfront and you fly there and they stick to their guns you cannot be mad at them. They told you upfront that was the price and you chose to take a chance and go there to negotiate anyways. I wish you luck and hope it all works out for you but the risk is on you IMO. I believe places like Laura GMC do not negotiate. What is on their site is the price.

Sticker with all options (all star package with factory tint, and a few other things) on my Z71 4x4 CC was just over 47k, rebates brought it down to 38k and change, paid 43k out the door (Mesa tax rate, and some help from trade in allowance in terms of tax savings) with tire/wheel coverage and dent/ ding coverage with an extended bumper to bumper out to 4 years 40k miles.

Looking for Ontario GMC Dealerships that offer great pricing??

Better to buy at the end of the month versus right now?

Georgian Chev GMC in Barrie has been advertising on the radio that they are the #1 truck dealer in Canada, if they're a volume dealer like this you might have a chance to get great pricing.

I drive by there frequently and used their lot to see what colour I liked before I ordered mine. They have a lot in stock.

Paul Sadlon on the other hand doesn't come across as my kind of dealer
