Price paid?

Recommended Posts

just read tooldogg's post about Laura Buick....

Has any been able to negotiate a better price than what is on their website at Laura?

If so, how much more?

Or is it always the price you see the is the price you pay?

Hoping to buy a 16 SLT sometime this year.

I am pretty sure the price you see is the price they get. I hear they do not even try and upsell you anything when financing. It's in and out and onto the next person. I imagine if you do not buy it they have 15 other people that will by the weekend.

I just picked up my truck from Laura last week! Flew in on Friday night, picked up on Saturday morning and drove home. They have a ton of selection, are upfront about everything, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I worked with Jason Welsch, great, no pressure guy. I was skeptical at first but ended up with a great deal. They were $3500 cheaper than anything near me for truck's I was compromising on for this and that.

After I decided on the truck and got the final price (price quoted on the website) Jason called me back an hour later to tell me he found another $500 off for an auto show near me. That is just good business and honesty. If you have any questions on particulars let me know!

Hey Guys,

I'm getting ready to buy my $60K 2016 Denali and I asked the dealer for the 16% discount that GMC is advertising. He said that they've already used their allocation of discounts for the program. I wanted to ask if anyone had more detailed knowledge of how this program works?

From what I can gather, it appears that the discount is achieved by applying Supplier Program pricing ($200 over invoice) and the balance is Consumer Cash from GM. This would mean that the dealer is getting the Supplier Incentive (SUPINC = 2%) plus holdback (3%) for a profit of around 5%.

I've heard that other past programs involved the dealer getting a certain number of discount tags which they could assign to vehicles of their choice. The tag was married to the VIN until it sold, then they could apply it to another. I'm not certain if this is how the current 16% discount program works though.

Does anyone know more about the workings of this program? Can anyone offer advice on how to get it applied to my purchase? Thanks much for any information you can offer.

Are you shopping a bunch of different dealers online or just 1? I am in NH and had to drive to Vermont to get the best deal but the 2 hour drive was worth it to me to get the best deal.

Sandy neck.

If you aren't willing to walk and get other dealer quotes they have no incentives to give you the deal. I worked in a few different dealers over the years. Some are fine with moving less volume and getting more profit. Others wanna sell a lot of volume so they are willing to take less profit.

2015 1500 LTZ Double Cab 4x4

Sticker: $49,920

Negotiated price: $41,147

Equity in trade: $9,020

Final Price: $32,127 + tax, DH, BS fee's

I check all the local dealers and I cannot find one for close what I paid. They are all in the $48K+ range for an LTZ package. They were pushing to get it out because it was in late December (12/23/15 purchase date). I got more for my trade than anyone offered and paid less for more truck if that makes sense. Another dealer had one identical to it but would not budge of $45K and offered me $2K less in trade. It pays to walk away and shop around.

I am about an hour away from the cape and I do go out onto Sandy Neck. At least I did until a drunk totaled my Silverado. I will go again if I can ever complete the sale of this Sierra. We shall see.

It's the dealers job to sell you the trucK and they are supposed to be the ones trying to make the deal.

Personally, the truck I own is paid for and if they want to gouge me and rip me off when I buy the truck, then that's not the type of people I want to deal with at all.

If the dealer lies and rapes you on the purchase, what do you think they are going to do to you when it comes to service/warranty work?

Vote with your dollar and the herd will be thinned down to the quality decent businesses.

They might sell ALL those trucks on their lots, but if they are jerks, it won't be to me.

They can rot for all I care.

If people would discern the difference between wanting a new truck and needing one, the dealers would be singing a different tune.

Does anyone really want to do business with a bunch of slimebag ripoff artist and then be locked into a relationship with that same lying bunch of crooks for the duration of your warranty???

I finally got my new 2016 Sierra 1500 Denali 6.2 last week. I went to iHarnish Buick GMC n Puyallup, WA to get a good deal. The sticker was $61,120 and I managed to get a zero down 12k per year lease at about $430 (plus tax) for threes years. Although I could not trade my 2013 Denali thanks to Ally Leasing being a bunch of crooked weasel trash. So I'm buying it out to resell, so I can get my equity out of it.

Hell yeah man, I stay away from Ally after a single experience with that trash company. I even tell dealerships now that I will NOT finance with Ally and don't even try it.

I actually used Truecar. I built the approximate truck I wanted, and adjusted the incentives to reflect a lease. I used a valid zip code in each major market in my region until I found dealers offering substantial discounts. Which they produce three dealers per each area searched. In my case, one of them in Puyallup had the orang structure I was looking for.
