Swap 2014 SLE Headlights for SLT w/ LEDs?

Recommended Posts

This may be old news, but I found out through Jared that the SLE to SLT housings he is selling are now factory HID. Apparently these are from the 2016 3/4 ton trucks which still have the 2014/2015 lighting configuration but with HID, built in ballasts, etc.

Time to do some testing. Anyone have the GM wiring diagram and round plug part #?

By any chance, do you have the P/N for the left and right 16 heads? I am considering selling mine and getting a set for the truck.

I would hold off until Its known for sure they work. The turn signal may be controlled by the BCM so its no guarantee this will work yet. The 16 SLE lights will however work with the GEN5 harness.

Perfect thank you!

Definitely. Just ran up a Photoshop of those new lights on my truck and it just increases my anticipation. I'm wondering if the 16 SLT trim lights will be easier to swap over to older similar trimmed models. I know it was hard enough getting SLE into SLT lights for our year as it is.

Well the 16 SLT headlight is LED and the turn signal is also LED. Looking at the schematics it kind of appears the BCM is controlling the turn signal. They are similar to Switchbacks since the 16 cuts off the DRL will the blinker is on. The 14-15's dont do that. The 16 SLE lights have already been swapped to a 14-15 and they are factory HID with standard halogen turn signal. http://www.gm-trucks...with-2016-leds/

I see, so the 16 SLE lights are a go with a new custom harness according to that thread. Hopefully something can be worked out, I know Diode Dyanmics makes a replacement board to work as a switchback for the DRL's so maybe there's a start somewhere around there.

Looks good man, I didn't see that. The 16 lights fit these 14 trucks well. Especially when you do black and white.. ;)
