whodatfan
They are currently working on mine. Should have it figured out soon. Didn't someone say there was a GM recall to increase the voltage sent to headlights for both SLE and SLT trucks? Thought I read that somewhere. Maybe that would correct the issue. mafd2
I had the TSB done on my truck which increases the voltage to the headlights from 12v to 14v and to install German Vosla bulbs. It's a big difference in illumination. This shouldn't affect anything. They are working on my harness but I had a different issue and no strobing. Hey, I just called my dealer and asked about the TSB and the bulbs and both the associate and the Service Manager said there was no suchj thing?!? He said that 3rd party and aftermarket people are doing that and it can void the warranty. I'm calling shenanigans because I've seen this TSB brought up enough to know it's not bs. Could you let me know where I can find and print this up so I can show him? I appreciate the help! Thank you, Mike

See the thread here for all information: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/165447-headlight-illumination-issues/ If you give your dealer PIT5374A and also Document ID: 4109395 they will be able to pull it up. The above link also has PDFs of the documents if you wanna search and print them. My dealer found it with those two numbers listed above. I think it may actually be updated to PIT4374B now, but even if they search the other number the newest info will come up.

2SSRS
Hello everybody, first off we want to thank everyone for their patience as we resolve the issue with the harness. When we built the harness and tested it on our truck we were not letting the truck automatically turn on and off the headlights, yet we were manually switching them on and off, so we were not experiencing the problem that some of you have encountered. After seeing what it was doing we racked our brains and came to the conclusion that the LED controller module and the BCM were not properly communicationg with each other, thus causing our issue. We tried numerous different designs and have come up with one that works absolutely perfect. The new harness will be slightly different than before in that it will have an additonal relay and will also use an add-a-fuse assembly which will take direct power from the underhood fuse block and supply it to the LED's as well as to the headlights. We are sending out a test harness to one of our customer's tomorrow overnight and expect a full report back on late Wednesday or early Thursday. As soon as we know that it also works in his truck we will go ahead and build the harnesses to that spec and be able to ship them all out early next week. We greatly appreciate your patience as we resolved this issue. Thank you very much Gen5DIY

SaintDennis1
Anzo now has after market headlights available that are similar to the slt head lights. In my opinion are awesome and will be making the purchase.
mafd2
Anzo now has after market headlights available that are similar to the slt head lights. In my opinion are awesome and will be making the purchase. These have been out since Feb and have been talking with Josh at Anzo since last year about these lights. I have a post on this thread about them. The only thing I don't like about them is the LED's are internally wired to the park lights so then for the LEDSs to come on, the headlights have to be on. I want the LED's to be DRL's and not just come on when the headlights are on. So the only way for the LED's to come on is to manually turn on the park lights (or headlights) and I don't like driving with my park lights on plus, it's a hassle to remember to have to turn them on every time you get in the truck. You would have to find the wire to the Anzo LED's and run a hot to ignition on source to have the LED's on as DRL's.

signboy
Hey 2SSRS it looks like you raised the price $100. I was waiting on the results of the harness this week to order them but the package was $1222 the other day now $1322. Am I mistaken? Edited May 13, 2015 by signboy
2SSRS
Unfortunately we had to raise the price due to the fact that GM raised the price on us. For those that were interested in the lights at the $1222 and were just waiting on thge harness results, we will honor that price for you. Please drop us an email by end of day this Friday, May 15th to [email protected] and we will make sure we get you a set at the old price. The new design harness was sent out to a customer last night and installed today and everything appears to be functioning properly. Thank you to everyone for your patience. For those that have sent their's back we will be replacing those and should be able to ship by end of week, for any new order's expect shipment by mid next week. Thank you very much. Please contact us about the headlights.. Thank you Gen5diy.com
signboy
Thanks Man. I just emailed you. That's good business of you and I also like the way you all improved the harness design. Makes total sense to use a relay to improve the voltage. My dealership would have been a PITA to deal with should I have encountered the flicker. Dang those lights are expensive. Maybe I can get a buck or 2 for my old ones. Edited May 13, 2015 by signboy
mafd2
Hey guys. I'm the one who did the harness test today on my '14 Sierra SLE crew. The harness works great so far. Here's the overview. NOTE: I had my BCM flashed last month as per service bulletin PIT5374A to increase headlight voltage from 12v to 14v. * Engine running in daylight, bottom LED's full power no headlights for DRL anymore. * With headlights on, top and bottom LED's low power. * All features work fine with switch in auto or manual. * Another cool feature is that when you lock or unlock the doors the top and bottom LED's come on low power with the park lights just as they do now. I didn't have the flickering issue like some of you but had a few other issues and now seems to be fine. This harness will have one extra relay and a 12v and a micro mini fuse tap that you will need to install. The fuse tap will go to fuse #50 15 amp O2 sensor. I drilled a small hole on the side of the fuse box cover and covered the red wire on the outside of the fuse box cover with small wire loom (pics attached). Thanks Ofer and Jared for figuring it out. These guys have countless technical hours in this. Edited May 14, 2015 by mafd2
