Adding Aftermarket Sub/Amp

Recommended Posts

Who made your box? Also can you post pics with the seat down?

Yes I can. Will get one as soon As I can.

My box is from Fox Acoustics. They only make them with a Chevy emblem on the front so I got a sheet of aluminum from Home Depot, cut it down to fit across the center section of the box, then sprayed it with rustoleum bed liner (also from Home Depot) and then I took an old GMC grille emblem and cut off the tabs and made a custom GMC cover(:

Fox sells a cover plate for a lot less than I paid to make my cover plate, but for some reason they didn't want to sell one without purchasing a box directly from them so I just made mine.

Welp after my first amp blew (Alpine - manufacture defect) up over a month ago I finally got new equipment and got my install done finally. Simple but suits my needs. Dual 4 ohm coils wired in parallel 2 ohm running 500watts rms.

Rockford Fosgate R500X1D

Custom box .55ft^3 by Soundwerk Audio - Ft Worth, Tx

Incredible sound from this little 10". Had the amp mounted on particle board secured to the seat bolts but turns out the seat won't go down... live and learn. I'll fab up something else this weekend.

As much as I love my system, I get jealous when I see ppl who still have space under their back seat [emoji20]

I love audio as much as the next guy. If money were no issue I'd go all out but this single 10" more than fits my needs as a daily driver with a little extra kick in the system now.

Gotta have room for the dog when he wants to go for a spin!

Mine is downward-firing.

Same... I have about an inch of clearance to the floor. Sounds fantastic.

My seat was raised but only to fit the box. The seats are a hair lower in these trucks than previous body style
