Adding Aftermarket Sub/Amp

There's room right here in the stock grommet.

Still stuck at running the power from the engine compartment into the cab!

I have tried and can't get thru this spot... Mine truck is a 2014 Crew.

"Remove right side bolster" What the heck is that?

Has anyone done sub/amp in 6.2 w/ Bose? I did thru a reputable installer and because of the noise cancelation system in the 6.2, which is linked up to the Bose I have a very loud reverb noise thru the sub, whenever the noise cancelation kicks in...easiest way to trigger the noise is first 5-6 min on after a cold start between 1300-1700 rpm's or on the highway at speed when truck shifts to 6'th and the rpms drop into that range. Anyone else have any idea how to either disconnect noise cancelation ( maybe disable mic's in cabin) or or ute sub and amp so that it doesn't get that input from Bose system? My truck is back at the installers today and they are trying to figure it out.

Thanks

I am in the same boat...anyone know of a workaround that doesn't involve cutting/disconnecting the MICs?

Yes. Look at the headliner above.the backseat, on 6.2 models there is a roughly 3" grill above the middle seat. Tjats the rear mic. There is also matxhing mic's in the middle of each entry assist fold down handle above the passenger seat.

To make it real simple to tap in a sub. If you pop up the door sill cover of the rear passenger side, there will be a plastic channel holding audio wires. Pull off the top plate, your sub wires will be the thicker twistested wires. They run from the amp to the sub, splice those to a loc and your set.

Would tapping into the sub via the door sill cover clear up the Active Noise Cancellation feedback issue? I am trying to find away to keep ANC and add a sub. Would like any feedback from any owner of a 6.2L: were you able to keep ANC? if so how? If not how did you cancel ANC out? do you miss ANC? I love how quiet my truck is but I need a fuller bottom end for my music. Looking at 2 shallow MB Quarts 10" subs in a sealed box. 1 500 watt mono amp pushing the subs.

If you clip the wires to the rear mic it killls the feed back. Not sure if the fronts still work? I dont miss it at all, tje truck is still dead quite. And you could always reconnect the wires and go back to stock. I think the added bass will cover more engine noise then that ANC did anyway honestly.

Tearing out the back seat and just thought about this... what gauge wire do I use to tap into the rear speakers? May have to head out to the hardware store for some wire...

Ended up using some 18 gauge I had lying around.

just following up....special shout out to AW22 and T gleason for replying to my query. We tapped into the wiring for the existing BOSE sub and no clipping/feedback yet (yet since I only drove it from the shop to home, not nearly enough time or speed to determine if its an end result). We are assuming that the ANC programming/software accounts for the subwoofer and disregards the sub output. Basically we are hoping the engineers took the subwoofer into consideration when designing/implementing the ANC system. Then again these are the same people that cant get a drivers seat to sit firm so not much faith is warranted or deserved. I will report back if there is a change on the off chance someone else finds themselves in a similar situation. Now I need to start saving for my next upgrade (either a 4-5" lift or a tonneau cover and bed rug).
