Working through a few bugs - wiper blades

Recommended Posts

I have had the truck for almost a week. Just working through a few small issues...

The wiper blades chatter real bad... skips across the windshield. Sometimes it's fine... other times it's bouncing so bad across the windshield I have to turn them off. After I noticed this I put Rain X on the windshield - I have seem Rain X in the past help this issue... and also cause it as well.

Anyway... no change since I put the rain x on the windshield. Obviously I have brand new blades ... any ideas?

Hello,

Yay! I see that you are finally in your new truck. I know you were very excited for the arrival of your vehicle. I am sorry to hear that you are having any issue with the wiper blades. Can I be of any assistance?

Regards,

  • 5 months later...

Same problem with my 2014 Silverado - one month old with 550 miles on it. When I took it back for a recall, I explained the problem and was told that they would "check it out." When I picked up the truck I was told that there was no problem found. Blades are still chattering and squealing!

Interestingly, I had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Tiguan when it was 5 months old with 5000 miles on it. The dealer, Garnet VW, replaced not only the front blades, but replaced the one on the rear window as well. Hmmm...Maybe that is why I am a repeat VW buyer.

I guess I'll call GM customer care before I waste any more time with the dealer, and then I'll probably go to a different dealer.

People are always surprised when I tell them how dismissive GM dealerships are on the service, and even the post sales end. Most people I know that buy new vehicles get worshiped like gods. I've bought two new GM's and always felt like they were running away snickering after I buy it.

never had that issue till this one - if things don't change with my vibration (new tires tomorrow) then this will be my last GM and I have owned over 19 new GM vehicles - to me customer service after the sale says it all
