What are some good tips in finding a company that does tinting and quality? Are there better materials and what is a good temperature to get this done etc.? CT is still pretty cold. I will only do legal tinting. Any bad stories out there?

I would google your town name + window tinting.

 

Most reputable places that tint have a website. I would also reccomend finding a tint shop that strictly does window tinting.. From my experiences they will do a better job then someone who does it occasionally.

This. The place I go to not only does vehicles, but they also do homes, offices, etc...

Cold weather won't bother it .. had mine done last month in below freezing temps. Also, had my 05 done in the winter time and had it for 8 years with no problems. It was $80 to have both mine done at the tint shop.

I was going to get 20% on my fronts, but the guy at the tint shop suggested that I shouldn't go that dark since Michigan only allows the top 4 inches of the front windows to be tinted. So I think I'm going to go with 35%, hopefully the difference isn't that noticeable.

Mine already had the privacy glass and on top of that I went with Solar Tech Ceramic 5% on the back and 20% up front in addition to clear UV film on the front windshield. Will definitely help with the AZ summers

I have 20 on my front Windows and had 50 put on my entire windshield.

Post a pic of 50%, really curious how dark it is as we're not allowed any tint on the front windows but might be able sneak by with it.

I went with 35% on my fronts, tho they don't quote match the OEM rear doors and windows (I assume those are more like 20%). How much of a hassle is it to ad another 15% to my fronts...making them 20% as well?

I'll post one tomorrow when I get back in town. You can't tell just looking at it, but it's harder to look into the window and just a slight shade looking out. I really like it and it doesn't draw attention.

Dont think so, looks like he just cut 2 pieces (left and a right)
