Not having this problem with my new 2014 Silverado yet but from everything I'm reading it sounds like a combination transmission suspension problem if it happens when foot off the pedal and it feels like a warped brake rotor. At that time maybe the tranny is putting a drag on the drive shaft and tire is bouncing. Sounds mostly like tranny fighting with the tire drag, or tire fighting with the tranny drag (however you want to look at it). Just my 2 cents.

OK. So that ain't it! One other comment and I'll pipe down: I had a newer Jeep Grand Cherokee with a fairly powerful aluminum V8 and when I stomped on it once it ran over a small lump in the road on one side and it bent the friggin drive shaft! It only showed up above a certain speed - big vibration. And it was a pretty big a** drive shaft in diameter. Dealer replaced the shaft and no more problem after that. OK I'm done! ;-)

Yeah driveshafts dont have to be out by much to cause vibrations through the truck.

Mine is a pretty fat one to boot.

FYI, Chrysler manufactures the ZF 8HP in U.S. (Kokomo) under license from ZF.

not there design. Im not saying anything bad about the trucks. Trucks are what auto makers make there big money

Off. Truck owners are the most loyal costumers out there.all I am saying is that if they want the money they are asking for the trucks. They dame well better give us a product that works well.i run a company with my truck if my trucks down, im down. I bought a new truck not to have problems with it.

Ford and gm are soon to be in bed together. Do some research for yourself you will find out that they are teamimg up to make trucks together

Please, stop spewing garbage. Gm and ford have teamed up on a 9-10 speed transmissions , this transmission will be first seen on the 2016 f150. There is no timeline when or what will be seen on the future sierra/Silverado in terms of transmissions.

Gm and Ford have NOT merged like this person has stated on trucks.

Any one notice their tires flat spotting after siting over night? My 2014 silverado did it with stock tires and the Dura Trac's I put on last fall (Dura Trac's on my 04 did it too). Now my Sierra I traded my Silverado off on does it too. After about 2 miles it's gone.

aren't tires today Nylon corded and this is a characteristic of that type of cord?

When I build a house it has to be passed by an inspector. Is there quality control at gm plants? Did they drive these trucks 100 miles down the road, and just say there good to go! Thats not how you run a successful company.

They make sure the bloated stickers are properly affixed to the window glass.

my sierra does it at all times! Hills or not. Did they figure what the problem was with the silverado you had?

No. I gave up on getting much help because I had an engineer come to the dealer and tell me my truck is fine, at the time the surging feeling while coasting wasn't doing it yet. I made one call to the dealer I bought the truck from (not the same dealer that was working with me on the vibration issue) and they offered me such a insane trade in value on a Sierra that I got stupid and bought another GM. In all honesty the Sierra is better, but far from perfect, now instead of a vibration I have a buzzing feeling in the floor and gas pedal that my Silverado didn't have.

For any one following mine, the new rear end is in. I had one of my Nittos ruined with a nail in the side so today the dealer put a test set on to compare with.

With the new rear end it is much improved. The vibration at high speed is tolerable. Probably even normal, I have become extremely picky and intolerant during this process so I have been using my family to help confirm what I am seeing. I think it is ok, wife confirms it.

Up to 40 mph and over 50ish no vibration.

After getting the borrowed tires we did a 60 mile dinner run to check it out.

This is what it is doing now;

Just a bit over 40 the steering wheel still vibrates. Not as bad but it still vibrates. Around 50 whatever the vibration is it spins out and isn't noticeable.

It tracks fine but seems a bit harder to corner right than left.

It has had and still has a dragging feeling when driving. It feels like a push back like in the old days when you left your locks in on your 4x4 front hubs.

Yeah exactly 40 mph to 50 mph and this vibration is always there. Tires are not the problem.....its gotta be something in the tranny, driveshaft, rear end !

I wonder what part changes the 6 speed tranny went through if any.

Axle angle from last years model compared to this years rear end changes?
