So I delivered my '16 Silverado Z71 to the dealer this AM, 2nd visit to the dealer for the "shakes". Young guy from the service dept just called and says truck is ready to be picked up. He said a tech and service manager both drove the truck, and both experienced the shake. He said it was determined the shake is caused by the tire treads, and there is nothing they can do about it. I asked why nothing can be done. Guy says there's nothing they can do about the tire treads, and I can speak with the service manager when I come in to pick up the truck.

What are these guys trying to pull here? Are tires now supposed to cause a vehicle to shake/vibrate, and that's now part of the purchase agreement?? I'm pissed to the point now, that I have the fk'n shakes such that it's difficult to type this!! Am I gonna be told that I'm supposed to accept the tires, and the shakes?

Sorry for the rant fella's but I'm pissed... Think I gotta calm down some before I go to pick up my $45K vibrator :o(

Oh... any advice on this would be muchly appreciated.... thanks

Tell them to put a set of slicks on it and drive it... see if they still tell you it's the tread pattern...

Thank you I appreciate it thought it might be worth a shot to ask first

Yeah they were every bit of 450 bucks shipped with tax and a pain in the ass to install I think I may have posted a brief description of the installation process after I put them on. Don't go down that avenue.

On a different note I noticed GM customer care was the most recent visitor to my profile page. Talk about a useless profession.

Has anyone had their Driveshaft checked for run out? That fixed mine, you would be surprised!

RT

I'm going to look into having the shaft checked. I need to find a place where I can wait for it while it's being done. I'm an old fart and live alone, tough to get rides here and there, which was a big part of the reason I sold my '07 and bought a new truck. So much for that bright idea....

Here's what don't get...how is that 4 years into this build, they still don't have this figured out.

But the all new Titan with new everything has no vibrations, shakes, no shuddering, no gear clunking, no down shift back lash clunk.

How does a brand new model year vehicle srive so much better.

Just got my truck back from the dealer and it's 4th repair attempt.

I break even getting out of it before the end of the year.

I'm going to cut my losses.

You are correct. The Titan Is designed in CA, engineered in MI, the engine is assembled in TN, and final assembly is MO.

It's 100% American.

Yes, my Sierra is Mexican.

So sad. I remember my 06 duramax had the Flint MI sticker in the door. I went to a 13 ram with a cummins after that and every single part on that truck said made in mexico. Got rid of that pile for my 16 1500 and now it even has mexico all over it. So sad.
