Hey guys I'm new here. I bought a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 back in April of this year. It went in the shop at 165 miles. They said tires were bad. I had them put TOYO open country at/2 LT275/65/18 E , it seemed a bit better for maybe 100 miles, then I brought it back in and the road force balanced them and said its perfect. On my way home it was not even close. Steering vibrated, seat and console too. Went back it 150 miles later and they blamed the new tires. We took those off and put on BF Goodrich KO2's LT275/65/18. Knew right away that it was not the tires. I got real busy and could not get back to dealer until 1500 miles on truck. They tried to tell me it was tires again and I snapped and said ( that mathematically impossible for 3 sets to have the exact same issue) they kept it for 21 days and put in a new driveshaft and a new ring and pinion. Funny thing the vibration moved from lower speeds to all highway speeds now. I should have left it alone! I took a trip down south and put about 3k on the truck. It was a complete nightmare to drive on the highway. You can't put any liquids in the cup holders because it will splash them all over the place. I brought it back in on Aug 29 2016. Took shop Forman for a ride and he said yes it's bad. They called me 2 weeks later and said, it's the tires. I said fine put on a stock set from the lot and let's go for a nice ride. It was even worse. I suggested they remove the rear driveshaft and put in 4 WD and go for a ride. They said it was still there...the truck has now been in the shop for 46 days.

CT has a great lemon law and I know for a fact they have bought back 6 trucks so far. If your in CT call you lemon law guy and get set up.

Oh they took the money, but the public and government was stupid enough to think GM needed it.

Actually GM sold off a few brands to try to stay up and running. They started having even more financial issues and the government stepped in.

Is anyone seeing the same vibrations on lifted trucks? Has a lift cured anyones problems?

lifted trucks have the same problem

yea, lots of people are having the same experience. The dealer I go to has done a bunch of these vibrating trucks, has admitted to having a couple for over 2 months at a time and still no fix.I can't wait until my buy back/ trade assist is finished.

Well my vibration is completely gone. Was tires of the dealership excuse. So I decided to try a few things myself. I started with swapping CV axles with new ones from the parts store. No change so I returned them. Then I replaced the drivers side hub assembly(wheel bearing) And all I have to say is POOF it's gone. Rides smoother then new. 8c5c6e32e09155dc17a492ca515ccdf8.jpgd8ad7df6819b239b4b3752e473a97836.jpg

I've been trying to find your other posts to put together your experience but I'm having trouble finding them. Could you please elaborate more on what you were experiencing and how you concluded that it was the wheel bearing that was bad in your truck?

I bought the truck with 17k miles. I had what I thought was aggressive tires on it and had a vibration. From 45+ Would come and go. And wouldn't happen all the time. I figured it was tires.

So once I wore out the tires at 57k miles, I got a new set of a different brand size and style. The exact same vibration was there only slightly more noticeable. (I figure tires hid some of it) started at 45 mph and got worse the higher I went and almost went away at 83mph.

so I started doing research on everyone's experience. And nothing they did ever fixed their problems. So I started trying to track down the vibration. It was the worst in the drivers seat. So I knew it was in the left side of the truck. Sat in the back and it was obvious it was in the front left side.

So I went to searching. Had the drivers side cv axle checked and the hub checked. Both times I was told they are fine by certified mechanics.

I wasn't satisfied with those answers.

The vibration DID NOT fallow rims or tires stayed in the same spot. So I knew it wasn't a rim or a tire.

So I started with the most movement. And cheapest. Witch was the drivers side inner axle bearing. Changed the bearing and it didn't change anything.

Then from there I changed the cv axle $80. No change. Returned the cv axle and got a new hub assembly $180.

Vibration went completely away. But what's weird is the hub that was on there didn't have any movement that was out of spec. Only had a very faint drag. Almost like one of the needles in the bearing was oval.

Not sure if it's an isolated even with my truck. But yeah. Almost here's a video of the shake. https://vimeo.com/184079976e9fe1f47120f2a77664e314d81870433.jpgbb87eb83ce6fb50575361013a5440f95.jpg53d68a63c935be71de199c43058840d3.jpg4596976af0fbb0f732b05657b910adbe.jpg

Just watched you video, and mine is NOTHING like that. That is crazy. Wow.

Just a quick update from me. I'm taking matters into my own hands. The Stealership will not get another dime from me. Next steps are taking to an independant differential/transmission/rear end shop. The owner told me that they will check the operating angles and pinion angles, and if needed after driving, ensure that the pinion is set properly.

A friend of mine noted that sometimes a heavy gear oil in the rearend can help with vibrations. Anyone mess with that yet?

As a reminder, mine is vibrating between 45-60 mostly. In full deceleration/coasting, it is the worst. I can reduce the vibration by placing into neutral, and/or playing with the throttle, just enough to not coast, but not accelerate either (now what I mean?).

I have Michelin LTX's, 500 miles. Still vibrating.

I've been reading everyone's posts. It seems like there are multiple components causing the vibrations. Mine started at 45 to 65 then dealer put new ring and pinion and now it's vibes from 68 to 80. Then they messed with mounts and driveshaft now it's even worse, starts at 45 all the way to 80... Terrible to drive not to mention the gas peddle vibes, as well as floor and center console. Mine is fine on decel. Mine is more on hard excell or steady speeds. I am working on LL in my state. Edited by Rambone71

I think you're on to something. Let my wife drive me around, the vibe is stronger on the driver side. If there is any play on either hub on the driver side, I might replace both of them. I'm getting new tires soon, and that will give them a chance to look at the hub assembly. Definitely getting 275/60r20. Thinking the Cooper Discoverer RTX will get a serious look as an OEM replacement.

There was NO play in my hub. Just a little drag compared to the new one. Couldnt feel it until i took the rotor and brakes apart. It just felt like brake drag untill then. But could tell a big difference once I spun the new one.

And i puy Cooper discoverer ATPs on mine. They seem like theu will do better all around for me. Slightly aggressive for camping and hunting. And enough siping to make winter driving safer.

I'll be bringing my 16 in tomorrow.

I purchased new from Laura buick and noticed the vibration on the way home within 5 minutes.

I did a short test drive but never got to highway speeds.

Really wish I would have known about how bad the vibe issues were and I would have looked for it.

I've had it about a month and put 4K on the clock. Get vibrations between 70-80. It's enough to be annoying. I can see the passenger seat vibrating while I drive.

Feel it in the steering wheel and floorboard.

Any tips for first time in? Based on what I've read I'd take msrp credit and buy a non Silverado/Sierra product now

SMC, I have the center console vibration. I feel more of the vibration in the seats than the steering wheel. Where did you feel the vibration the most? You would think front hub would vibe steering wheel? Or was it felt in the butt? I can feel the slight vibes manageable to 70 to 74, anything above that vibes really bad.

I felt only in the seat and the floor mostly. And when it would vibrate really bad it would shake the wheel. Have you sat in all four corner seats to feel where it was worse?
