Ok guys here is an odd one, when I bought my 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Z71 with 18" wheels it rode like butter and smooth as silk.

Now at 28,000 miles it rides like a tank and has a fairly good shake that I can't get rid of.

Do you think it is the U-Joints?

How many miles? Do you offroad or tow a lot?

At 28000 miles it could be anything.... probably totally unrelated to this thread lol. You could have a strut or shock bad, tire balance problems, wheel bent, sticky u joints etc. If it rides different you probably need shocks and struts... yes 28000 miles is pathetically early but the factory parts aren't exact top quality lol.

I should mention, it is a 2wd, I do tow a trailer once or twice a year and do not do heady duty off-road. I only bought the Z71 package for the looks not for 4wd

New to the site and been watching this thread for quite a while. I currently have a 2014 FX4 F150 (don't hate me). I really want a Sierra All Terrain SLT...every time I see one on the road I stare like a stalker. My F150 has been virtually perfect and I now have 37,000 miles on it. This thread is the only reason I haven't traded for a 2016 Sierra! I keep waiting to read that the vibration issues are fixed for new 16's or at least that the issue is found and all vehicles will be fixed. What the heck GM...I want to buy one of your trucks!

Take this topic with a grain of salt, I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado and it is buttery smooth. Yes there is an issue, but this whole site is where people with problems come to vent/look for solutions. There are Many more smooth trucks out there, then there are ones that shake. You can look up any new truck or car and find problems people are having with them. My real complaint is the tranny in traffic. I hate driving my truck in traffic. But I put it in M2 and problem solved. If you want a new truck, go for it. Don't let this thread stop you. PS I have the 5.3, great motor, but I wish I had the 6.2. Good luck

I have my vehicle in for the second service regarding this issue today past the Pico scope and they tell me at the vibration that they admit they feel is within normal means when the video that I have clearly shows otherwise I took both the service manager and the foreman for a ride they both can feel the vibration the foreman will admit it the service manager says he doesn't feel anything out of the ordinary that sets it apart from any other truck I'm at a loss at this point because they aren't willing to go any further with it being as it passed the test the truck is a 2015 Silverado LTZ 20 inch wheels with 8 thousand miles.

Was told the same thing by my dealer. They said it was within spec but the tech spent 6 hours balancing the wheels the best he could because he could feel and see on the PICO scope what I was feeling and the dealer ate the costs. I could tell he did everything he could, he put almost 200 miles on my truck in one day driving back and forth to the freeway for testing, but when its within the arbitrary GM spec the dealer won't replace anything because GM will not warranty it. The end result was no change, because the problem is not the tires. I guess if you go to the doctor complaining of arm pain and they work on your foot you should not expect the arm pain to go away. I took mine in at 2000 miles, I now have 22000 and the vibes are just the same even after replacing numerous parts. This is probably not a very uplifting post for you, but sounds like you're in the same boat like a lot of us. Welcome to the fold.

Yeah this is what I decided when I bought mine. Small percentage odds are I'll be fine. Test drove it up to 80 on the freeway everything was smooth, purchased it and everything was good for 2K miles. Now I have a truck that vibrates and the manufacture won't do anything about it. Agreed new vehicles have issues, I have owned 2 that had design flaws, ford explorer with the 4.0 with plastic cam chain guides, motor grenaded at 90K ford put in a brand new engine. Nissan frontier with the radiator that would leak water into the tranny cooler and cook all the seals in the transmission. The difference is both manufactures acknowledged the issue and offered a solution and a no cost extended warranty for the problem in question. Not the case in this situation. So you can take your chances, just know if you are one of the unfortunate few that ends up with a vibrator don't expect much help from your dealer or GM and settle in with the fact your going to swing payments on a 40-50k dollar truck that you hate driving on the freeway.

If you ask gm none of them shake/vibrate. Was told by dealer yesterday tech didn't feel anything. I guess I have imagined my trucks vibration.

I was thinking the same thing. They're worthless as hen shit on a pump handle anyways. Let me help you make an appointment so the dealer can tell you they won't help you because GM won't pay for it. Give me an F'ing break.

Thanks for that. Thats what I am thinking but still nervous! My wife has employee pricing which is hard to beat...and i like the trucks. So, I will probably take my chances...after a long test drive. Now just need to find a sales person who doesn't act like a d-bag. Sorry if offensive but really...I have never purchased a GM vehicle and know more about package options than the sales people?

Not sure whether to laugh or cry over this story....

http://www.gm-trucks.com/_/news/truck-sales-have-gm-and-its-managers-rolling-in-r438

So if anyone has any doubt in there mind why GM has not properly fixed this chronic vibration issue, simply read this story. Record profits, baby. I can just hear the executives logic...."there simply can't be a real problem if our best selling and most profitable platform is doing record sales. Must be those stupid customers again!" Effing GM.

There will be no R&D to resolve this issue. There will be no design changes or modifications. Why would GM invest 1 penny to correct an issue when they are selling these things in record numbers, making record numbers, and Mary Barro is taking home over $28 million a year!! Think about it. It party time on the executive floor in Dearborn.

And you almost can't blame GM. (I said almost....don't crucify me). But, in all honesty, there have been more than one instance of someone reading this forum and still buying a GM. So, GM is totally in the winners seat here.

Bottom line.... Don't hold your breath!

Read the fine print on the employee pricing, i believe you give up some rights in exchange for that pricing.

Maybe GM feels that trading a truck every 2k miles is the solution.
